I want to know what everyone thinks of any career around there, I'll start.;
I was thinking of going into Law or Culinary Arts. I'm interested in both of them but i really don't know which to choose. Lawyers have good pay, and it's actually a pretty fun job the way I look at it but it's gunna be extremely hard to get myself there. On the other hand, There is Culinary Arts. Namely; Pasty Chef. I love to cook. I try to cook as much as I can and I find it really fun. But their pay isn't so good and being around so much heat can be really bad for your skin(semi-kidding =]). Which one do you think I should go into? If not these, then which?

Laywer pros:
-High pay
-Stability
-Always interesting cases
Laywer cons:
-Extremely hard to get in
-Ethics in the way
-More stress
Chef:
-*Not* bad for your skin =P (especially if you put on cream/lotion)
-Pay is decent enough to make a living
-You can open up your own restaurant one day
-Fun perfecting your art and coming up with new ideas
-Nicer environment, friendly people
-Less ethics
-Easier to get into
I find that people usually only remember the 'main' jobs: like doctor, lawyer, policeman, etc. But people forget the subspecialties and alternatives. There's always something else you can do. However, if you want to go into the field of law but can't make it as a lawyer, don't be discouraged. There are other jobs available in that field. What those jobs are . . . I wouldn't know. I've never been interested in law my entire life. But you have a long time before you have to choose an actual career, because you're still in high school. Check with your school's guidance counsellor. They should have a list of programs and career options. Or use good old google!

I was always thinking of just working at Burger King for the rest of my life, either that or being a Garbage Man. Which do you think is better?

I doubt Square would hire anyone who's not Japanese anyway  and like you said, it'll be extremely hard. You'll have to come up with extremely good stuff (then again, no, with crap you can also make it, just look at FFX and FFX-2 XD)

lol. If it wasn't for crap I wouldn't be where I am today...I'm so proud.
I'm not sure what I'm gonna do. I like helping people so maybe I should do something like that. I think I'll go with cop or firefighter.

I was thinking of either a Chinese to French or Chinese to English translator, or again, a guitarist (player, teacher, whatever...).

It's fine.. I'll ask someone to change the topic title to jobs but anyways..
"I was always thinking of just working at Burger King for the rest of my life, either that or being a Garbage Man. Which do you think is better?"
Being a Garbage Man can cause excessive back pains though their pay is a lot more than BK. It's your pick but if i were you, I'd work at BK.

I can tell you first-hand the pros and cons of my career
I'm a systems administrator for a mid-sized company. My responsibilities are taking care of virtually all systems in the office (servers, desktops, fully-switched network, routers, firewalls, phone system, etc.) I pretty much designed and built our infrastructure from the ground up.
About half of my time is spent working on projects to enhance something or solve a problem before it becomes a problem. The ohter half is spent on routine maintanence, responding to requests, and solving random problems that occur.
I really enjoy my job because of the Pros below. However it's not for everyone.
Pros
You get to work with really cool technology
In a small or midsize company, you have a LOT of power and say in the way things are designed and built.
Hands-on work.
You make people happy by making their lives easier.
Very challenging and fast-paced
Cons
With great power comes great responsibility. You've got to be ready to take charge of problems and work under stress.
IT is a thankless job for the most part. Noone notices when everything is working perfectly, but EVERYONE notices when things go wrong. Don't expect a lot of praise for your work.
You'll lose sleep sometimes if you need to carry a pager
Hours are sometimes long and irregular
It sucks when you can't get the money you need for projects. Thankfully this isn't a problem for me as our company is doing very well. However, it can be a large problem for small companies.

Doctor:
Specifically working with chemothrepy patients
Pros:
Joy of helping someone through a very phisically challenging ordeal.
??????? i'm sure there are others just not coming to me right now
Cons:
Emotinally tolling on the person doing the work
Tiring
I would like to do this as a career.

Yeah..Then again, maybe no the character design. They would never replace Yoshitaka Amano untill he dies. Maybe the background designer...

I thought about being a cop, I get to help people but risk getting shot at the same time, and I kinda planned on having a family.
I could go into advertising, good money, but hard work. *sigh*
America doesn't have many engineers so I could get into that, again there will really be good money, but for some reason seems boring.

I'm thinking about a career in Game Design as Well. But For me, I'm thinking Square is sort of a long shot. That'll involve moving and taking Japanese courses.
I figure I'll take a few programming courses through my highschool years, maybe some things on graphic design. Get deeper into it in college. And stick with music as well.
I don't really know much about it though. Like whether or not it pays good and how I actually get in. I want to be able to make a living. Jobs with computers usually pay very well, don't they? Does that go for game design as well?

Yeah, at least over here they are. The hard part is to actually get the job. Nowadays you have to be pretty specialized in something though, not wide-spread and know like 20% about different computer software/hardware.

You'd probably have to take a course in C++ or Java to become a Software Engineer and don't forget to study advanced maths as well as physics, even if you don't study to be a software engineer, you'll still need advanced maths.
