Where does that bull come from? It differs per person, my condition is short but I can outrun a lot of short people simply because my legs are longer. And short people don't have to be light, they can be fat you know?

Personally I think for girls its ok to be on the short side..for guys...its not as fun :(

er about the running faster bit - shorter people use less energy to take one stride because their muscles are smaller as they have smaller frames in general, but they have to take more strides than taller people with longer legs to cover the same distance. It's nothing to do with speed.

I'd say advantages of being small:-
(i) you look younger (though that can be disadvantageous)
(ii) you're more flexible (as in body and have lower centre of gravity)
(iii) if you're a girl, guy's like to have shorter girlfriends
(iv) dont' ask me why but there's a higher proportion of good-looking people who are short e.g. tom cruise (who apparently has the perfect face) is a midget 5ft 2 or something ridiculous (I'm not joking)

Advantages of being tall:-
(i) easier to see and spot in a crowd
(ii) easier to reach higher things without using a chair or ladder
(iii) most likely stronger and therefore more intimidating (can be a bad thing)
(iv) you can slam dunk easier XD

You can't really say if someone's short or not...It depends on what you think is tall, or who you're comparing them to. I mean, if you see me with my family, you'd think that I'm pretty tall cause i'm taller than my mum, and nearly as tall as my sis who's 3 years older than me. But if you see me with my friends, I'm the shortest gal there. I'm 5ft btw.

i consider myself short (5'6") my bro is tall for his age I think (13 adn 5'7") I consider anything abover 5'9" really tall.

Ok, getting back on topic. Shorter people don't nessassarily (sp?) run faster. I know for a fact that I'm pretty short, and also crap at running...plus taller people generally have longer legs, which kinda helps..right?

Well, yea, because longer legs lets you take bigger steps. But tall people don't necessarily run faster than short people, either.

Tall people have a longer stride then short people, so one of their steps is like one and a fourth to a half step for a short person thats all. How fast you run all depends on your stamina and how fast your willing to move your legs, speed has nothing to do with height, height only has to do with stride.

Tall people ftw! Expect being tall makes me feel out of place when I'm surrounded by munchkins. My longer stride got me onto the track team but my endurance was meh. So I quit.

I feel out of place too when I'm around my friends, cuz most of them are short. Not that short but shorter, like 3 or 4 inches.

Since I'm taller than some of my friends I hunch over when I talk to them so I am at eyelevel. =/

I was tall for my whole life until last year. The Asian gene has got up with me:

I'm actually pretty average, based on where I came from, but here, I'm considered to be pretty tall.
