I've stumbled upon these cute Volks Dolls, and I instantly wanted one. However... whoa. They're expensive. Does anyone know dolls that are volks-like and that are much cheaper? I would really appreciate it!

Well, the kind I'm looking for are called Super Dollfie... It's manufactured by volks. :D Sorry I didn't clarify it.

Carve/Sculpt them, make clothing, and buy the stock yourself from a craft shop? Surprisingly, it's not that hard if you spend a few months on it. The hardest part of crafting a doll is body contours, and painting the makeup on the doll's face. Clothing is a different story, though.

I saw those dolls in a documentary once (Japanorama on BBC3!). They are pretty expensive because they're just collector's items and not really toys. I believe they're all unique as well.

Woah...some of them are pretty creepy, but there's also a fair share of beautiful ones.

But the hair for these dolls=OMGDROOL. The same goes for the clothing.

Most of the dolls I would consider getting (If I were RICH) had a price tag of around $400. Wow. =[ And I probably wouldn't display one of these around the house either--especially since I'm even afraid of oscillating fans (while off) at night. They look like stalkers!

I still can't find generic convincing versions of the dolls! I've looked for so long it's not even funny. :cry: Saving up for one doll would take forever with a $5 allowance(stupid job age thing...) so I can't really do that...

Edit: Well, okay, some of them are staring at you all wide eyed and that's a little creepy, but I want the really pretty ones with eyes half closed and not open and gaping at you. *sigh*
