I don't think it's goin to be that bad, because I heard it was goin to have better graphics than the PS3 and some other stuff was suppose to be better thann the PS3 but I don't remember what else.

There's a possiblity it might not be backwards compatible as Microsoft have suggested they might not put a hard drive in it (which could obviously cause problems with hard drive-reliant Xbox 1 games).

As far as graphics go, of course it's going to be more powerful that the PS3! That's one of Microsofts biggest selling points! Besides, Sony don't actually give a crap about their console, as long as the brain dead masses buy it. =]

I can't really diagree with Harv on this one but Microsoft is being very stupid with the Xenon (I believe that's the official name now). It looks like they're waiting for news about the PS3 before they finalize anything. It was their ballsy attitude that made me like the Xbox in the first place and this new touch and go image doesn't work for me. One thing they have somewhat confirmed is the fact that it won't have an HDD which leaves the Nintendo Revolution as the only console that's likely to have one. Other than that leaked specs have put the power of the system at essentially that of the Revolution which isn't surprising considering they're both based off the Mac architecture and they both have the same graphics and CPU makers.

Edit: Sorry Harv, just saw you said essentially the same thing about the Hard drive. I hope they do keep backward compatiblity because both Sony and Nintendo are looking at that as a top priority and Microsoft doesn't want to get left behind.

true but if microsoft just took a little time and notice that they will be left behind and but an kool laser thingy in it then they'll have a chance

too much shady information for me to comment on it yet...

Though for the hard-drive issue, theirs always the memory card expantion that you plug into the controler (if the controler varible ports are the same).

It's not the saving space that matters. The HDD allowed you to make custom soundtracks and several Xbox games use the HDD during gameplay and in saving to an extent that wouldn't be possible with a memory card. There's so much more you can do with a HDD. Imagine making a custom DDR song with your own music or having unlimited space for a custom level. This is possible on the Xbox but wouldn't be without the HDD.

Well if X-box 2 is anything like the first one... I'll just say they better have Halo or their dead! It will probably be alot better seeing as how X-boxs was their first console... They were inexperienced then but now they've made some mistakes and don some things right. They still don't have enough experience as Sony or Nintendo so I'll stick wit em!!

I'll quote the small column that was in the most recent issue of Gamesmaster Magazine (sorry if I repeat anything that's already been said):

"Xbox2? - Xenon too!

Techie heads on, peple, this is going to get complex. More details have escaped about the Xbox , starting with is new codename - Xenon. Don't worry, though, as that name is just a temporary thing. But something more permanent is the revelation that, since it will come with three 3.5 GHz Power PC G5 processors, Xenon will be about twice as powerful as a top-end Apple Mac. It will also be smaller then the original Xbox, ten times faster on the net and comes with even more dedicated graphics hardware on board. Which means bigger games, smarter graphics, faster action and even better online gaming. Hurrah, we say, and will do until we bring you more details, which will be soon."

Interesting, eh?

When Sony entered the console market they ripped every other games company to shreads, so what does that tell you?...

Trechetican, can you please try to use some normal spelling and sentence structure. I'm not expecting perfection but right now it's hard to understand anything you post.

Back on topic, the reason Sony ripped apart Nintendo and Sega was because they were both being extremely incompetent. That isn't likely to happen to the same degree again. Also, it wasn't a matter of Sony automatically owning the market. The Playstation was out for at least a year before it made a big splash, it was when FFVII came out that people stood up and took notice.

That said, I liked it more when Microsoft didn't have experience in the market. They went in and actually listened to what gamers wanted (except on the controller, whichever focus group came up with that should be shot). Now they're way too concerned about keeping system cost down and they're ruining the things that made them a good choice. (most powerful, most features)

That was a mouthfull for you wasn't it?

From what I interperate, you say you want to play your old games on the new console... What's wrong with playing them on the old one? I still have and Atari 2600, Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega genisis, All popular handhelds, All last gen cosoles, and a x-box; and I still alternate on the games that I like... They all play the same as well...

It's not really about anything anymore is it? Whenever anyone wants to discuss the Xbox 2, please create a new thread ~ thank you.
