A friend of mine let me borrow his copy of "Escaflowne: The Movie Ultimate Edition", and I fell in love with the music. My high school band director heard me listening to it, and commented on how some of the tracks might make a great marching band show. I've since graduated, but I'm still heavily involved with the band, and think that this would be a great idea.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to come across any sheet music for the movie, only that from the show, which doesn't help me one bit. So I have come to my second to last option, checking Ichigo's. My last option is to contact Bandai for info. I guess I'll have to contact Bandai anyway for the liscensing, but I'd rather have the music in-hand before that occurs.

So this is where I turn to you all for help. Like I said, I haven't been able to find sheet music for the songs I'm looking for, which are:

2. First Vision
4. Into Gaea
19. Black Escaflowne

Whereas the number refers to the track number on the OST listing.

All songs are composed by Yoko Kanno, and are (c) Bandai (as far as I know).

My first request, is that if any of you are able to find any music for these songs that I so far have been yet unable to find after many hours of searching, please post the link here.

Upon failing that, if any of you would be interested in helping me transcribe these wonderful pieces, it would be much appreciated. While I am studying composition and music theory in college, I am (strangely) unable to transcribe things from a recording...I can do wonders with an adaptation, and some of my originals are top-notch, but as to why I can't transcribe, I seriously don't know.

If any of you are interested in helping me, please PM me, and we can begin our correspondence. I can send you .mp3s of the songs in question if you need them.

As for copyright issues, I can assure all of you who are worried that these shall not be performed until liscensing has been taken care of, and probably not for another year and a half or so to boot.

As a final note, any who aid me will have their names (either real ones or screen-names) printed in the credits, if you so wish.

Thank you all very much.

Hey, that's interesting :)
For which instruments do you want this sheet music ? An entire orchestra ? :upset:

As the original score is for full orchestra and choir, I will need to make my own adaptation to fit the needs of the marching band. Thus, I would need (preferrably) a copy of the original score (for orchestra). This will enable me to make as close an adaptation as possible. Failing that, it would suffice to have a basic staff for each musical line, I am competent enough to figure out which staff would apply to which instrument. I have done that for a few of my other adaptations, and while it wouyld be more difficult and time consuming, it is entirely possible.

Either way, if you decide to help transcribe it, I would not need you to do any arrangements, just transcribing the original. Leave the arrangement to me.

I'll try "this evening" (see my signature to know about the jet lag) :)
