I tried to compose a piece of music that tells a story.
Not sure if it works

It is about the destiny/fate of human, and the piece contains three themes.

A. nature (water, plant, animals...etc) -CDEEEDE EGEDD....
B. God (or a mystical power that governs the universe) -C, C DCB C....
C. mankind -EEDDEFE

the story starts...

1. the earth is born and calmed down.- everything is peaceful with God's power over them (theme A followed by theme B )

2. Mankind is born. Soon it brings rapid development, but, eventually.... destruction (theme C)

3. the inevitable extinction (theme A twisted)

4. God's pity and lamentation/ Human's repentance (theme B - remorseful)

5. Human is given a second chance (theme B ~optimistic)

6. The successful co-existence of nature, God and human (climax: theme B+C combine -> resolution)

please give me some constructive criticisms,
thank you.

I've been saying to most of the members here that some of their songs don't have flow or direction. Well, if you want an excellent example of how that should be done, please listen to this song!

reasonli, everything fits in perfectly. You gave the themes time to develop, and you let us take a quick breath before moving on. Everything connects smoothly. I like how you were able to use your themes in different ways and even change the mood. I especially like the concept of your story, and I was able to follow it the whole way.

*claps* ^^

Mm, I agree to the things Alphonse said. The problem about new composers is that they make songs out of nowhere, like "Hey, this sounds good...hmm...this too".

thanks Alphonse and Noir7. I was worrying I had'nt given enough time for the themes to develop.

Edit:
For those who grow impatient with the mp3 download, here is the midi file-- see attachment.

I used finale 2004 softsynch + human playback function to make the mp3. So there is big difference between the mp3 and the midi version. If you have time, please check the mp3 version as well.
