i wonder...why are marching band flutes stereotyped as ditzy girls?

Well... I don't know if they are "stereotyped" exactly, but all of the marching flute players I have met ARE pretty ditzy lol. But it's a good kind of ditzy. They are so fun to hang out with lol.

haha, it's really sad, but i find it somewhat true, atleast in my band. but we do have some pretty awesome flute players too.

of course all instruments come with their stereotypes in marching

ive never been in a band but i am a flautist and i admit im pretty ditzy

i think regardless of gender its just something that comes with playing the flute =P

Because society frowns upon boy flute users. Two of my friends and I play(ed) flute, and we were guys. Some of the girl flutist I've met were ditzy, but not most

really?! thats the stereotype?! wow...all the flutists in my band are in like AP classes and are oober serious about practicing and stuff, including me....hmm and the only thing ive heard is that our section was the hottest and we had the best marching section too....

Most of the flute players I know are in all honors and usually not ditzy... I definitely have heard to the stereotype though.

When a person plays a flute, she or he is called a flautist, it's not an error. Flutist is.

Damn it, you got here first Sir Dotdotdot... and I could have had such fun, too.

this year is gonna kinda suck for me flute section seeing as how they have like 5 noobs marching who never really pay attention and hardly try....to bad i can't march flute this year:cry:

Every flute player in my band is indescribably ditzy. But, they are all very smart...one is the #1 in our class. But then again, the only male flute player we have, is ditzy, the best, but is a complete idiot...
