I just received one yesterday. The thing is, I know it's meant for violin, but I heard it also works for clarinet if you leave it in your case. If there's anyone that uses this, clarinet or not, can someone explain how the humidity indicator is supposed to work, because mine did not come with instructions. :heh:

My oboe buddy had one of these things, but she kept telling me that making these humidifiers yourself is actually better.
As for your question... Perhaps it indicates how moist it is in the case or how much water is in the device itself?

Actually, it's used to measure the humidity of the room that you are placing your instrument in.
Apparently, I figured out how it works just today. For some reason, 50% humidity for a wooden instrument is actually great. :heh:

I have one for my violin, but I could never get it to work...plus, I live in a climate where I don't really need one.
