Just post the .MUS as an attachment here or sent it in an email to Me (isantop@gmail.com) and I'll post the converted file here.

The converted files will work in any MP3 compatible media player app (Windows Media Player, iTunes, Winamp, etc) and any MP3 compatible Portable player (Zune, Creative, iPod, etc.) They have good sound quality (depending on your soundfont, even better than when played in Finale).

Submissions must obey site rules. Make sure they're your files! (unless you can prove you have permission from it's creator to post it). If they aren't original, I won't convert them.

So you're converting .mus to mp3 by using Finale's synthetic sounding soundfonts? o.O Or are you using samples? Or other soundfonts?

By "your soundfont", do you mean those that post .mus files up will have to provide their own soundfont to you?

No, no one has to post their own soundfont. I'm not that mean. But I did replace the default Finale Soundfont with a different, so, unless they have the same one, It'll sound different. And Finale has a .mus to .mp3 converter? I should look into that. It may be eaisier than my current method. Is it available for Notepad users?

Finale Printmusic, Allegro, and Finale all include a .mus ---> .mp3 converter, so Notepad doesn't.

(_ _) Oh well. :) Guess I'll just keep using my current method.

I attatched an example.

(Note on the MUS example: I know it's written in G minor and I know It's really a Solo)

Hm... The soundfont is pretty low in quality, the violin doesn't sound like a violin at all... ._. I think if you want to help people make better mp3s, you should use better sounds and probably tweak it more... As your recording has no dynamics/expressions or anything.

But the MUS has no dynamics or expressions
And the violin does sound like a violin. (I think, anyway, but I just came from gen. MIDI sound)

The programs above can make dynamics/expressions/tempo changes, etc... even for MIDI.

Yes, I agree, something you should consider doing if you're gonna help people make good quality MP3s.

And it doesn't sound like a violin at all, if you compare your sample to the GPO samples of a violin. It's a huge difference. However, if you can't get good samples or soundfonts, I guess the only thing you can do is tweak the MIDI with what's said above.

Whatever. Just forget everything.
