Something just happened that positively freaked me out. It may have just been a coincidence, but I'd like to know what your opinions are, because I'm really spooked.

Quite a while back, on these very forums, I received a PM from someone known as "turing":

Now, before you say it, I know what you're thinking. This guy was probably just plugging his stupid site on me. Maybe he did it to other people. Has anyone gotten the same message from this person?

Anyway, just a few minutes ago, I noticed I had a PM on kirupa.com's forums. I opened it, and lo and behold:

At first I thought it merely looked familiar; it's been a while since I received the first one. But then something struck me and I checked the old PM I got a long time ago. Same guy. I realize he could be doing this on a lot of sites, but both times he PMed me. Both times this happened I was inactive on the forum in question as well and happened to stop by on a whim. He would have had to have picked me out from the massive member lists on both forums, as my name wouldn't have been on the online users list. It also seems like if it was happening to more people he would have been reported (I noticed he hasn't been banned on either site, so either no one's reported him or no one knows about him).

What do you guys think? Is it just a coincidence? Is this some kind of scam/regular internet occurrence that I should know about? Or is something very wrong happening here?

I've gotten PMs from him. Don't worry about it; just a spammer. :heh:

Well if you share a screename across various sites I can see it happening very easy. Ifnot ... just a coincidence, I got his PM here aswell, but not on any other site, the internet is pretty big so its unlikely to come across the same person (if you dont have the same screename on the other site I can understand your worry) but yeah, stuff happens I guess.

I got that a while back too... I guess it's not really a big deal. :mellow:

I got one of those a while back too. I was beginning to think that I'm a magnet for n00b spammers because I've gotten it more than once from different people XD

There's no reason to be alarmed unless you see him in your neighbourhood saying the same message written there ;)

I haven't gotten that. But, I keep getting text-messages from 0-000-000-0000. >.<

I got one too. Didn't know who the heck that was when I came back after leaving for a bit and saw that. Just thought it was someone who saw me and probably wanted to make friends. Didn't think it would be a spammer. =_=

Oh...so he's the one who spam and send the EXACTLY same message to me. Kind of creepy though... :think:
Anyway, spammers are very annoying. Sometimes they even spam post saying only "Hi!", "HEllo", "How are you?"

Brr...this really creep me out. Anyway, just don't bother them, they're just bunch of boring people who had nothing to do but doing something stupid.
