I had just finished my first song I ever composed. I had some issues with it, but I'm content with it. I don't actually play the song the same way I wrote it; I tend to ab-lib some of it...

The song is titled "Forget-me-not" beacuse it it's Gray's favorite flower.

I know that there are areas that could be better done but I think I did quite well for a first-timer. I had serious issues issues with the bass portion of the piano :heh:

I actually don't play either of those instruments, so it was a bit of a challenge. You may be asking why I didn't make the Violin play the melody in 15, it's beacuse the standard violin's range doesn't actually play the low note... I reality checked the trills as well, same with the double stops, so you actually could play this on one violin, but it would be techincal.

Uhm. What's with the direct rip of the Chopin C# Nocturne at 20-21?

You had some good parts in this, but they may have lasted only for a few beats. x_x

You don't seem to have a very good sense of motif, so try to work out that right away so it doesn't become any sort of bad habbit. :)

Good luck for future compos.

It's her favorite song... there are refrences to it every now and then... I'm not too familar with all his work, so if there were more then a few, it was accidental...

you´re from sweden, am I right?

anyways I would love to listen to the song so if anyone could make a midi out of it, that would be nice...

It has potential but the rhythms for the violin feel very awkward. Try taking a rhythm then adding the notes, and repeat the rhythm and just change the notes. It might help add flow to the piece. Also, the ending felt like it could use one final chord change.... but that's just my opinion. This piece could become a very lovely piece, just keep working on it little by little!

Good luck with future composing

I completely agree with Yukiyoma about the ending needing another chord change. But I think this is really good for your first piece ever.
