I hope I posted this in the right thread...

Anyway, this has me really worried. I've been waiting forever for the end of Kyo Kara Maoh and it only has twelve episodes left. Plus, there were many more Geneon titles I was still hoping to buy.

What do you guys think?

Sounds like a good reason *not* to try to collect long anime series on DVD!

I worried constantly that this would happen to me while I was collecting InuYasha on DVD. (Luckily, VIZ apparently likes it's customers enough to not disappoint them!) Hopefully they'll release the last parts of Kyo Kara Maoh before the cancellation takes effect, but you may have to complete it using fan-subs to fill the gap. Good luck however things turn out!

Unfortunately, the last three DVDs missed the deadline. This also means that 1,100 DVD releases are going out of print.

Goodbye Geneon, you will be greatly missed.

Seriously, why does everyone think that this is the end of Geneon o.o? It means the company's going through some hard times but before fansubbers jump on the gun, they've said this doesn't mean Geneon's dead. I love Geneon but the Geneon that was part of Pioneer some few years ago . I've stopped collecting DVDs because of monetary reasons for two years, so I wouldn't know what's happened to Geneon's DVDs since. ADV doesn't have pretty covers for their anime, and yes, I still think it's worthwhile throwing $25 on a DVD if it has a good chance of having a pencil box like the first editions of Chobits had. Plus, the covers are so pretty ^o^.
