I'll post up the ones on the wall later on. I have to reformat them to jpeg and I'm too sick to do it now.

^Heh, I'll post them up one by one someday. For now, I'm too busy, but all the ones on the wall are my designs for a certain organization.

Here's what I'm working on at the moment.

So, I'm currently designing a website and I'm at the designing phase. Clearly, this is how I'm gonna do it once I transfer it to the HTML language. What do you guys think so far?

Opening Flash Page (The watch will actually move depending on the visitor's location and time, so it'll basically tell time for you when you visit)

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y78/xpeed/OpeningPage.jpg

Home Page (The watch from the entry page will minimize to the right upper corner and it will still tell time)

Products Page

Watch page

It's 98% done!

Here's what the final layouts are. All the watches are placed, inventory, and such.

I've done some changes, like color changes and some add-ons as well.

Too much negative space.

Too much negative space.
I beg to differ. I think they look pretty good, actually. A few of them are a little empty, but I think they're fine, on the whole...

xpeed

I agree there is lots of empty space, but with this type of product, it's hard to keep it from being too busy. I wanted the product to be the main focus instead of the site as a whole so I used black for the background to bring out details from the watches and jewelry. :)

Just scrolled through them, but I think the coloring for "Forgot your password?" and "Register" should be changed, as it kinda clashes with the rest of the page.

All in all, good job.

I've designed another website. It was for a major bakery chain, but I can't post them up since they're copyrighted to the company. Since it's still under development.

Very nice! The minimalist design really does suit the jewelry and watches, although the tops of the pages seems a bit bare. Perhaps a tiny amount of decorative accent--like a dark dark dark grey swish or something so there's not too much negative space, but so that it's not at all distracting either.

I do like the first home page better, with the diagonal "Home" and all plus... maybe the name somewhere on the lower right? But the final one looks amazing as well. <3

Also, typo on the "Services" page? Should it be watches instead of watch?

Overall, very good design and aesthetic sense. Hope to see more of your work! =D

Oh, and the works from your first post are great~ Very eye-catching!

Pretty neat stuff. I especially like the Tide commercial. I didn't so much like the demo reel. I think it's the music.... Yeah.... It was a bad choice of music... and the graphics were a little cheesy. Some of the graphic designs were cool, like the calender. Other one's are a little pain in the ass to read it.... like... the things with the sideway text. Can't wait to see some more though. I know you got some good ones... hahaha

xpeed
April 8th, 2011, 11:57 am
Thanks! Yeah some are really cheesy but what can you do. The past is the past.

I started a photography business on the side. This is the logo I designed for it. Nothing too fancy-schmancy.

If you like to see some of my work go ahead and check it out at facebook, Zero 7 Studio. =) I just started so there won't be much to see as of yet.

The typography looks unbalanced. Zero is more expanded than studio.

I have to agree with what Nyu001 said. The words does look a bit different from each other (not format.)

Also, there's sheering (jagged edges) all over the text. You should use hinting on the font and eliminate some points in the arcs of the seven.

It would be good also to make the initials the same size the other letters are. It would look harmonious and centered. It would take a little bit less space too.

It would x3 Gahhh, I need to improve my English. o_O

Ander

I think it would be cool if the "7" was in 3D. Kinda like a folded piece of cloth.

xpeed
October 24th, 2011, 06:31 am
Thanks for the input guys. The font is actually the same size all around. It seems that way due to the big "7". I did some tweaking after reading some of your critiques.

Here's my updated calendar I designed two years ago. Tweaked it and made it cleaner for 2012. If you guys would like one, hit me up, although the holidays are focused for USA. I can take them out and make it simple for you internationals.

Having text so close to the edges makes me feel scared. Maybe you should minimize your logo size a few cm and pull down the upper months and up the lower months a few cm? And center the calendar so you will stay away from the left edge? Or is this flying without a paper size here at Ichigo's? oO

I do not like much how the holidays just change its number colour, but maybe would look different once printed. I thought maybe you can design a tiny symbol that make these days stand out from the rest? Or maybe that would throw the balance off...

xpeed
October 24th, 2011, 06:21 pm
For some reason, when I change it to jpeg, the whole thing seems awkward. There's supposed to be an extra 1" border around the outer lines. The holidays were just on a whim. It actually looks okay once it's printed.

Ander
October 26th, 2011, 06:08 pm
how do we know what "day" it is? I don't see any of the days of the week. \:',

If your only goal is to advertise your name and studio in a compact and quick way, it could work.

xpeed
October 27th, 2011, 04:06 am
Good, because that's my main focus. Get my name out. Haha! You get used to it quickly actually. I got rid of the color on holidays. Probably going to change it to white instead of red. Thanks for the input Nyuu.

@ Ander: The colors are there for a reason. It's to differentiate what day it is. =]

They should have a cook book where they don't show the end product. they just have to believe in the heart of the cows! I mean cards... I mean what? THey just eat it without know what it is supposed to look like. That's what I meant.

xpeed
April 26th, 2013, 01:57 am
^ Hahaha, but how else would you expect people to cook it and eat it correctly? Isn't that what cookbooks are supposed to teach?

I think the use of typography need to be improved. The one for Dove, a tad slimmer typeface will work better for a smoother and feminine touch, the type it is giving to me a manly feeling (The text below). The bubbles maybe can use the yellow color of the logo to keep a consistence. And the circles would feel fuller if they were a bit thicker and followed a more curvy motion toward the big oval which is too width. The flow of the circles looks like it is following lines that connect. Additionally, the product placed in that ad is using silver, white and 2 blue colors which would be good to consider how to implement it somewhere in the ad, like adding a gradient blue bar behind the text below, or giving a softer gray to the text.

In the food recipe, the body of text looks like you just justify it. There are some gaps that need to be fixed. The list of ingredients maybe can use bullet points and maybe order it better, from the longer lines to the shorter, or vise-verse, or keeping the longer ones together and have a rhythmic pattern with the shorter lines if it looks more pleasant.

The astronaut one I find the concept interesting. The only thing that keep me thinking is the product. I don't like how it looks disconnected by levitating there.

xpeed
April 27th, 2013, 05:47 am
For the Apollo one, I think a slight shadow under the product will fix that "floating" problem. Thanks for the constructive criticism. I'll look into when I have time to change it.

Working on a catalog for myself.

Planning to start my own custom PC thing later this year. Still need to work on it but this is pre-production before the final. Still got to fix my kerning but you get the idea.
