Hi, I'm not entirely new here since I made a small thread about a year and a half ago with some rather poor quality music...:heh:
Well, I'm back with some new stuff that is certainly much better than what I had on here before, but whether or not they are intrinsically any good or not, well that's for you to decide:\
so let me know, and let me know what could be improved as well!

Well, it seems that my compositions got swept under the rug, to a degree >.>
but, I composed something else, so I might as well put it up.
I composed this during psychology 'cause I was bored, and, given that I couldn't actually listen to it until it was finished, I think it turned out decent, if not somewhat insubstantial and redundant. Let me know what you think.

Sounds like the type of song in VG music where you're doing some menial task like picking where to go on the map or doing training.

The piece sounds alright, if not a bit too formulatic/repetitive. It's kind of neat that you avoid major/minor chords altogether in this piece, though at the expense of lot of parallel chords. Main problem I have is with the mix - the pizz parts are way too loud compared to everything else; also it sounds kind of 'wet' compared to the rest of the instruments - maybe you can add a bit of reverb to everything to mix it up a bit better.

Thanks for your feedback! Here are some more recent compositions.
As a side note... How exactly do I get well... different sounds? Im currently using sibelius 5, and i really dont know how to use anything other than the default orchestral sounds, or the regular midi sounds. And how do I apply like neat midi effects and stuff? What program could I use to really get better control over my compositions?
Thanks.
