Man, I've seen his progress from "10 Things I Hate About You" til his Hollywood breakthrough... He's a fellow Aussie too! And his poor daughter...

Leaving a 2-year-old behind :( So sad, expeically since he seemed like one of the less screwed up young(ish) actors in Hollywood, and was one of the ones that Australia's proud of BECAUSE of it.

yeah he looked like the type to not actually take drugs...actually more to the point, the media never said anything about illicit drugs o.0...

The joker thing actually has a bit of truth behind it. I read something somewhere (if I find again it I'll link it) saying he spent a while living in a hotel to prepare for the role. He was doing alot of crazy things to get in the right mindset and it was affecting his sleep, among other things.

scary......

Yeah, he had to take sleeping pills to sleep or something. The Joker is such a darkly insane character, and it would take a great deal in order to pull it off.

He did a good job of it though. ...even though it probably killed him. :/

Yeah, Heath Ledger weren't one of the actors that i thought would end up like this one day and it's really sad that he left his 2 year old daughter behind. Hmm... somehow mentioning this reminds me of Anna Nicole Smith, like with the dieing at an early age and leaving a young daughter behind..... but that was another story

Wow... i never knew that a specific role could affect an actor like that

It's not surprising, considering The Joker. Boy, that villain has issues.

Now i GOTTA see the movie asap ><"... Joker can relate to Kenpachi from Bleach x]. (my fav char...off topic lawl)

So anyone find out what sort of drugs he was taking? I'm still sure It's only prescription sleeping pills etc..

*edit*

Yep i was right, Sleeping pills overdose o.0....

Do you think it might have been suicide? Somehow I doubt it but its not outside the realm of possibilty.

Nate River
January 23rd, 2008, 08:24 pm
It's a possibility, but you can't really be certain. Like anyone else, I didn't know the guy so I can't say if he was the type of person who would do that. I'd be surprised if he did though. He had a great career ahead of him. He needed to have had some serious baggage to give that up.

Though overdose seems to be the popular way to do it with celebrities...

yeh but i always thought he was happy..
okay well not that happy with all that iv heard about him from magazines and whatnot

but when i found out i was like.. AHH!
i was at home, turned the tv on to watch some tennis... flicked channels and it was on the 'news updates' and they mentioned about how they found his body.. and i was like "awah?" and then the news update finished.. so i wasnt sure if what i heard was right
but yeh.. i think its sad =( i liked his acting.. he seemed like a happy person to me

did they get to finish filmin the batman movie?

Al
January 23rd, 2008, 10:13 pm
Yeah, I think they finished filming all of his scenes, and are just wrapping up production.

InfinityEX
January 23rd, 2008, 10:44 pm
At first I thought it was suicide..... but the media quickly covered it up saying it's not... well I mean they DID find tonnes of pills all over his body and around him...so it is possible...

Does stuff like this count as celebrity gossip? no right? usually celebrity gossip ain't my thing...

Nate River

You make it sound like he was swimming in pills when they found him. All I heard was they found pills next to him. And they were prescribed. Heath never struck me as the pill popping type. :\

Yeah, Heath wasn't seen as one of those pill taking people, but if he did die due to taking those pills then wouldn't the doctors find out because they could test his blood

Nate River

Apparently the autopsy was inconclusive. I'm assuming they just aren't telling anyone. Suicide is gaining points.

In forum terms (any forum) It's similar to quoting what you say....
In other words in this case, I agree with exactly what u said....

It's hard to explain this stuff x]...

toki

lol then you shouldv just said "i agree" rather than just quoting him

hrmm maybe someone swapped his pills or something..
but then again.. if it was that they probably wouldv announced it already... yeh i dont know

dang.. why did he have to go die for... well its not his choice but...

Just thought I'd update on this.

Turns out he died from an accidental prescription drug combination. They're investigating the doctor who prescribed them.
