New as in recent? Strait Jacket and Shakugan no Shana i and II are good.

k thanks I'll look into those, I just remembered about watching Gungrave so I'm also finishing up on that while I wait for episodes for Bleach and Blue Dragon... I'm still open to some more great shows as well.

If you include older animes try:

2. Mai Hime or Mai Otome (I thought Otome was better)

Darker than Black.

then...Midori, for the scene where the fire-breathing trap woman pulls of an American History X on some puppies.

If you want action then Claymore is the anime for you :P
I highly recommend it, as it was 2007's best action anime.

I heard Blood Plus was a good show, but I have never watched it.
