Well, I just switched to Direct TV today for some very verrry random and odd reason... came home just to see a Direct TV receiver box sittin on my kitchen table... Seems that my parents very very strangely wanted Direct TV... well anyway, when I checked it I saw that I had channels that weren't available in the package I had with Comcast, and one of these was the Toondisney channel... Well as I was browsing through the guide I just found today that a NEW DIGIMON Season 5 was playin a 8:30 est. time... !! I watched it to confirm it, and sure enough, it was a new seaon. I'm not sure if anyone of you Digimon fans know of this already or not... But it's a very great suprise to me seeing as I was such a big praiser back then in my toddlerhood... As well as many many other people in this forum... Knowing that some if not many... started clinging on to anime with this series as a sparker... (other than Pokemon and Dragonball Z)... But just to see it back just made my mind spin...
After seeing that it was coming on, I decided to watch it, so I did, and I'm sorry to say that I was quite disappointed (kind of expected), the opening theme isn't as catchy and groovy as the previous themes were... But what really annoyed me was the point that the art seemed almost completely different than the older seasons... As if the show producers switched companies... And when the digidestined (digivolvers) "evolutionize" (this one is a bit of a mix between the evolution types in both Season 3 and 4), instead of the ole fashioned anime drawn evolutions, they tried to advance into the "modern world" by making the evolutions a 3D type conception... Which really discouraged my interest in the new season...
Plus, the voices weren't really that great...
