I was just curious, does anyone know of any good european manga/graphic novels? I've only been reading japanese and the occasional korean ones until know but I don't know what to look at for ones from europe

If it helps, my favourite manga at the moment are; Ouran hshc, xxxholic, fushigi yuugi:genbu kaiden and tsubasa reservoir chronicles - so mostly fantasy, romantic comedy, shojo-y stuff

It would be best if they'd been translated into english too, but my french and italian is ok so if it's in either of those I'd be alright.. maybe :\

thankyou!

hmm I probebly should have phrased myself better.. not like the superhero one's from america :P I'm not really interested in them. More like graphic novels in the same sort of style as manga, but from italy, germany and france.

They do actually exist don't they? Not just something I imagined x_x

Well, actually - there are 'manga' by authors from different countries. They may not ACTUALLY be manga - they're americanised most of them, but they do exist. Generally Tokyopop is the one that publishes them. There's one called 'The Dreaming' by Queenie someone or-other, which is Australian, and which I want to read. I've bought a couple of them in the past thinking they were normal manga - I guess technically they're just graphic novels, though some of them are printed right-to-left in the Japanese style.

I can't think of any English ones off the top of my head (has something to do with the fact I'm Australian ;))....and obviously not french and German ones, so I guess they're not technically European XD
