Basically, it's described as a Curtain Fire shooting game, where you fight enemies that fire in unique patterns while you shoot at them back. I love this game! =] the music was also the reason why i played it. I didn't really care about killing the little things that you are supposed to kill. I jus dodge the white orb things until i reach the boss. :p

Also, somewhat off-topic, but most, if not all of the good art that has to do with touhou are done by fans... I think tasofro did most of the art for the fighting games too, which are the only games that IMO actually look good in terms of pictures...

so you guys, what Touhou version do you play?

I play 6, 7, 8, 9 (normal level completed), 12.3

This is how I got far for each version (normal):

6: Sakura is troubling, especially a particalur spell
7: Youmu's Slash of something is like really annoying as well XD how could you dodge a bullet of high speed but I did got up to Yuyuko once and died on her 3rd spell
8: Reimu's Fantasy Seal (concentrated) was the spell I hated the most XD
9: Normal level completed
12.3: Got OWND by 2nd Boss 3rd Spell

I only play 12.3 with my brother, story mode's pretty boring.

You can graze, that's something that I didn't learn until... much later XP

Graze increases your score count. Nothing more, nothing less. It's something that those wishing to argue scores for accomplishment focus on.

I've only played up to Imperishable Night, so I'm not too familiar with Unthinkable Natural Law, but I think mastering the classic streaming, death bombing, and the POC techniques will help you more. Twitch dodging is generally how I've mastered the games (short of pattern memorization).

Actually, 12.3 is a fighting game, like SWR and IaMP. Graze actually allows you to /completely dodge/ the bullets coming at you, which makes it highly useful.

Actually, now that I think about it, I don't think it's called graze...

I will somehow go to Japan, then, I will get ZUN is some sort of danger, making sure not to kill him, because you know, HE'S ZUN. I will then "save" him from the danger I put him in. I will then try to get my character in, by flattering him on his work, and using the fact that I just saved his life.

Firstly, get to Japan, yeah... that's hard.
Secondly, you'll have to find ZUN. Not knowing his real name (well, you can guess it by the credits on the earlier games, but WHAT IF HE WAS FAKING THAT TOO) and his location, as well as not knowing whether he changed his look over the past few unit-of-times might hinder you.
Thirdly, getting him into some sort of danger might be hard, seeing that the danger must be actually dangerous (not like, oh no, you're gonna hit your toe on that rock), however, there must be other people around to help him, and a few might see through your plan and inform the authorities.
Fourthly, you have no idea how ZUN will treat you after you "save" him from the "danger". He might think it's an everyday occurrence, or maybe he wanted that thing to happen, you never know.
Fifthly, ZUN gets flattered, hundreds of times, every day. Unfortunately, I don't think he really responds to fanmail and the like. I don't think he even reads it, I know I wouldn't have enough time.
Sixthly, ZUN could put your character in, however he would have to majorly distort his current storyline, and/or add your character in several years in the future, at which time you might forget, he might forget, or it might be so distorted from your original that it would technically count as his, by which time you probably won't recognize it either.
...there are more, but this is getting long, and I doubt anyone would read it all.

You could try it, but... :heh: it might be a bit hard.

2: I don't really have a solution for locating him, besides using a DNA tracker...
3: Im going to be thinking llike Lelouch from Code Geass on how to get him into some sort of danger, so that way, nobody will suspect me of trying to kill him.
4: Im going to assume that if I save his life, endangering my life in the process, he's not just going to just walk away, and will have some sort of debt to me.
5: Flattery is just a bit of insurance in case he thinks twice about my proposition.
6: Well, you see, he doesnt have to destroy the storyline, he can just come up with a reason for why my character wasnt in the last 12 games. I mean, not every Touhou character is in EVERY game. He could also introduce my character in the next game.

I am actually proud of myself beating Touhou 8 in Easy Mode!! XD and I am serious!! And I still kinda cheap using the Border Team and I only loose life when battling against Marisa, Eirin and Kaguya!! I think I can advance myself to Normal Mode.

Today I tried Touhou 7, unbelieving that it was incredibly hard (on Easy Mode). I lost lots of lives on the Triplets of Poltergist (or probably quadplets be better if any of you know Touhou history that Inaba Tewi is the only character that stayed in gensokyo longer than anyone!!), Youmu's spells are really scary (and I glad I didn't loose too much lives) but Yuyuko's first spell made me game over (Okay I admit I used continue twice but I played Touhou 7 for the first time!!)

Touhou 12.3 is actually pretty fun XD the spells cards are really fun :D

Touhou 12.5 is really hard for me XD I am stuck on Level 6 and my friend is on Level 8 (I have to admit that my friend is a Touhou addict, HE CAN EVEN BEAT YUKARI, MOKOU AND SUWAKO and mastered Lunatic Mode... a great fruit for a person who plays Touhou about 100 times per day).

Touhou 10... its kinda challenging (on Easy Mode), never beat Kanako before but I swear she was Gundam!

Touhou 11... I am stuck on Satori. Her spells are uber scary.

Touhou 9 I beat the game in Normal Mode but I don't admit its Touhou cause the gameplay I don't really like it.

My friend said Touhou 13 the last boss might be the Dragon, for your information, the Dragon is the strongest in gensokyo (even Yukari can't beat her). Iku has a big chance of appearing (as she dwell in the Dragon Palace). I don't know about if there will be 2 dragons or not. All I know about Touhou History is that 1 Dragon disappeared and the other Dragon remaind in Gensokyo but no one knows where it dwells (so I suspected it has to be the Dragon Palace!!)
