Hi I'm Thinking of playing an instrument. What should I play. Many people tell me that the Clarinet is good. What should I do?

Clarinet's good. It's fairly easy to start, very verstile and has a beautiful tone. After playing clarinet it's also possible to move onto playing any other single reed instrument easily. The same can't be said for playing saxophone.

Hmmm well first of all, choose something you like the sound of ^^

I started clarient 7 years ago, just because the sound was nice. And its like the basis of all instruments i think, kuz its easy to go from that to other instrument later on.

I play piano for fun because the sound, and the variety of music for it you can play almost anything.

And a couple years ago i started playing oboe, and now thats my main instrument i playin my schools wind ensemble. I decided to play that because of what i heard...I listend to lots of music, and if you ever hear a great pro. oboe solo its so beautiful. so most importantly choose something that you love the sound of, but dont forget you can try a couple first :D

Woodwind is the easiest kind of instrument to start with. Like flute, or clarinet
if you wanna learn woodwind, i prefer flute, first of all, you don't need to buy reeds (no need to use money on that), all you need to do is learn to control air flow in a flute. Once you are skillful in fingering for flute (which is not hard at all), it's really easy to play, and there are many nice melodies that you can play on flutes

Thanks everyone! I did try the flute but the person at the store said my fingers were too short for me to play flute. She said Clarinet would be better. Are there any good anime/sheet music for clarinet?

I think animescores has some specifically for clarinet but as long as you transpose piano melodies up a whole tone (take it up a one space (line to space or space to line) and add two sharps to the time signature) you'll be fine.

Edit: Btw, nice avatar, Nino rocks.

I don't know of any clarinet anime pieces, but you could try rearranging a piano song for clarinet if you think you're up for it.

THanks for the advice! :) Hopefully I'll get a clarinet soon! I just wanted to make sure I was making the right choices since there are so many instruments to choose from.

Yeah nino is cool do you know where to get Fire Emblem sheet music?

I'm working on transposing a few pieces from the game right now but I'll probably get lazy and stop. Until then you can find the music to "Together we ride" (The fire emblem theme that's in SSBM) at the bottom of this page. (http://www.freewebs.com/vgsm/vgsheetmusic.htm)

Lyndis is an awesome character, Hector's also very cool and has a lot of backstory in Hector's quest. Actual stats wise I'd say the best characters in the game are Hector, Nino, Canas and Rebecca. I'm still working on all of the different support conversations though so I'm sure I'll find more characters I like a lot.

As for the sheet music, now I know someone wants it I'll expedite its completion but I still need to finish a good transcrition of "Ballad of the Windfish" for Ureshii Gaki so it could be a couple of weeks.

Kewl, yes Fire Emblem Rocks! I still can't beat the final chapter in Eliwood's story though.

My favourite characters are Jaffar, Nino (their support conversation is really cute ) I have many others as well. :)

What Fire Emblem is your favourite? The game I have is Rekka No Ken (for GBA)
It's awesome.

Yes I can't wait to see the songs :)

What?? fingers too short for flute...i don't think you need long fingers......V_V aww that's too bad...flute sounds really classic and soothing. OOOOOOh well clarinet is good, just be careful on high notes. ^_^

Clarinet is really fun and good to play. Just don't do what I do and squeak on high notes. First, its loud and you screw up a performance. Second of all, your music teacher gets really annoyed at you. Third of all, the people beside you yell at you after because you killed their ears.
