This game is to take a melody and to add your own harmonization and to do anything else you wish like to add counterpoint, orchestrate it, change key, variations, to add new sections, ornaments, Change tempo, etc.

I hope I explained correctly. Be Creative!

Here is the melody, is divide in 2 parts (Melody A & Melody B):

here is my example. I harmonized it and added a new part and some other arranges.

Wow, very nice! In some ways it reminds me of Danny Elfman style.

Here's a short pseudo-waltz from me. I had to sort of interpolate the melody in 3/4, so there are some awkward sections. But overall it works, I think.

it sounds a bit depressed going slow. it changed the mood a bit. Maybe for waltz you could have played with the value of the notes for fit it better with the chord and the rhythm of the waltz. I was doing an arrange of it in waltz but ended sounding more like a jazz piece. I didn't finish it. I liked the last chords you used, they were too slow but sounded good.

*gives you a medal for participation* ;)

Anyone want to donate a short melody? Some chords? Some rhythm? Anyone wanna play? I want. ;p

Ooh, this sounds like fun. I can never think of anything to write. I'll edit this when I'm done. :P

Ooh, your submission is pretty cool ajamesu. The only thing I wanted to point out to you is that the viola is in the wrong clef. If you go to change the clef, the one viola is supposed to be in is right next to the treble clef. ^^

I think when Finale open a midi, it won't recognize if was originally in an alto clef, and will put it in a treble clef or bass clef.

I think you got to manage well the melody in 3/4 ajamesu. Zippy, yours seem incomplete.

I wanna play, Anyone donate a melody or something with rules to play?

OK. Try this. Here's a melody I tried to use for a waltz one time but I just never continued to work on it. Use this melody to create a waltz for a Solo Instrument and Accompaniment.

Yah! Alright, I will see how I manage it tomorrow.

Hmm... simplistic and fun. I shall have to try my hand at this.

Oh, oops...XD I fixed that.

I found the two samples given too well... I didn't get idears. Especially with the Waltz, could see anything I could with something like that (pretty rigid imo).

So I did the next best thing, I'll add my own idea to the Music Game! :D
I think some Leeroy Anderson-like stuff is possible with this theme set. I'll see about fleshing this out at some point.

*edit*
Just noticed that on both the MIDI and PDF, measure 13 has an "E" as the grace note... that's supposed to be a "D", staying the same with the pattern before it. It's not too dissonant as an "E" so keep it or change it.

That melody is very playful. I had fun doing a woodwind arrange of it this morning. I think the flute & piccolo goes out of range reaching too high, but anyway, no one will play this. Here I added the arrange and another mp3 just exposing the background. I will see later if I get time tonight to play with Porsche's melody.

Edit: lol, I did not copy that mistake when I did my arrange.

PorscheGTIII: I did my try, but I started to go away of the original melody... lol. I did not finish this, so here is the bit I did:

Very interesting! That's pretty cool! What I had in mind was a little more traditional...

EDIT: I changed in a better MP3. ^_^

I like your original version, you should have finished it!

D'oh! Posted this in my thread first, but forgot to also post it here :heh:

I came up with a Lullaby based off my Irish melody, it's pretty frakkin awesome. Me and Porsche were fooling around with samples last night and I think we may have come up with a Mannheim Steamroller sounding version of my Lullaby  I'm still debated whether I should upload that mix or not...

Anyways, same as in my music thread, here's the mp3 of Lullaby.

Here's a melody and a few ideas that I'm just going to abandon completely. :heh: This sketch was meant to be for the 2nd movement of the Satirical Suite that I'm composing, but I'm not going to even include this, because I don't like how this turned out at all. Change it however you so desire. :heh:

(Note that this was intended to be a piano sketch for band (although I first thought of it for strings). Therefore, I highly doubt that 100% of this is playable on piano. :heh: )

EDIT: Sorry; previous .MID file didn't work. New one posted.

Maybe Friday or Saturday I will try to do something with the first 16 measures.
