That is from the pump it up like the dance dance revolution. Beethoven virus is a remix of the main theme of the third movement of the pathetic sonata.

It's a really cool piece actually, never heard the original sonata though, why is it 'pathetic'?

It's Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, op. 13. Most commonly known as Pathétique.

The reason why it was called Pathétique I am not sure, probably it could be the publishers. I have read that the tittle was because of Beethoven was in a bad time/moment. But those things it may be false. So I really have no idea.

Btw the Moonlight sonata it was not named by Beethoven if someone wondering of that one too.

I don't get it.. o__o Banya made the sonata more modern, which is understandable, but why do people go back and look for a piano version of an extract of the original sonata which is written for piano? Because with out the whole "rock" portion of Beethoven's Virus it's pretty much back to classical; so wouldn't it be easier by just learning mvt 3 of Pathetique? I'm pretty sure there are hundreds of easier versions out there for those who don't feel too up for the original. Just a thought. Don't slaughter me.
