Shockingly, noone here talks about it o___0 Created by Hironobu Sakaguchi, composed by Nobou Uematsu, not to mention with assistance from some members of the team behind Shadow Hearts (known as FeelPlus+ now)

Anyway, it's for the Xbox 360, and is a game of epic proportions

Seriously though, it's got a much more heartrending and mature storyline than other JRPGs, and I loathe to say it's more mature than FF, because I'd get flamed

Anyway, the game's story...I can't say anything for fear of spoilers! Kaim's the main character, he's immortal and so are 4 others in the game. He's 1000 years old, but can't seem to remember anything beyond being a soldier/mercenary of Uhra, and Gongora's (which isn't a big deal to say is the 'big bad guy') personal lackey and agent.

I'll answer more questions on the story, would try to shield spoilers.

But I'll say this - None of the characters you have (save one and two kids), are virgins.

:heh:

Videos would help here:

I love the song they play during the commercial on TV.

White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane

Question: If your characters are immortal... how do you die? o.O

As an in-game thing, they still lose HP and get knocked out, but they return automatically after a few turn passes.

A friend of mine has been playing this game non-stop for the past week and a half. He's pretty picky about consoles so it must be good. I'm even considering getting it and I hate XBox.

Even so, Immortal does not mean invincible. To be Immortal is to say that you won't die by mortality, or by natural means (such as age or plague).

You don't know the story >.> Which I can't say here because of spoilers -______-;;; Dilemma...

I even wrote a freaking article discussing their origins on other sites...gah!

I wasn't arguing the story... I was arguing the misconception of the English used in the afore-discussed post.

They say they're immortals in the game, what can I say?

Because calling them the 'Invincibles' sounds...bad.

I may have to check this game out after Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Actually, I'm pretty sure "immortal" means just what everybody nowadays uses it for. (I even looked it up, lulz.)
I'd call what you're referring to...bio...logically...immortal? I guess?
Or maybe I'd just say "they live forever, unless you blow them up...like hydra."

Aren't all causes of death "natural," anyway? They're happening in the natural universe, so that makes them natural, right? XP
What's the difference between getting stabbed in the face or dying by plague? Some dumb organism is killing you either way, right?

Considering what caused the meteor crash (which actually looks more like someone literally dumped a volcano on-top of the army...which may be what happened...) it was definitely 'unnatural', as in, it was done by a purposeful agent and not by 'nature'.

Also, think of the Immortals in LO as Highlanders, except even losing their entire body doesn't slow them down (I don't know how that works myself either. I think they just get them back magically. Magic re-creates their bodies).

Actually, their immortality is very much like how immortality is in Asian-Chinese mythology. If you've read some of the old stories, like Journey to the West, or Origins of the Gods, you'll see it takes A LOT to effectively kill a being that's considered 'immortal'.

Take the Monkey King Sun Wukong for instance. He had his head cut-off over a hundred times with no effect; he just re-grew it and there were a lot of heads littering the ground. It would have required the God-killing Simadhi fire or the digestive liquid inside the gourd of the Gold King to even threaten his life. And even THEN, he wiped his name from the Book of Death, effectively giving him infinite life.

So, think a more 'poetic' form of immortality.

Ah, of course. That's the way everyone uses the word "immortal" nowadays. I was agreeing with you. :3
And LO looks like a pretty good game; I think the main battle theme is amazing. I hear the load times are unbearable though. ;__;

Most of the reviewers received non-retail copies. The retail copies had the load times at least halved, so several of them had to re-state their reviews.

However, there are SERIES of load times, which happens when they switch between using the in-game engine for cutscenes or full-on FMVs on occasion. They're not frequent, but they can try your patience (it did me).
