I never played harp before, but it shouldn't be too hard to input notes for a newbie.

Ok here's the problem. You know how you hear those crazy glissandos going up and down rapidly? How do I notate that in Finale? Using more than 1 glissandos screws it up badly. The playback plays it quite differently (It rushes). I can easily play it in my head the way I want it to go, but I can't get it down onto the score :/

Once I get it down, I have a remix I would like to share.

Go to Human Playback Preferences. (In Finale 2008/2007, it is the symbol to the right of the tempo marking.) Click "HP Preferences." Click "Glissandi and Bends." Uncheck "delay if possible."

Speaking of Glissendos and such, what about piano scales? The technique where the player just wipes across a whole bunch of keys. When notating such, should one simply write in like 64th notes or something? Or is there a different notation?

With a piano you can only produce two type of scales with a gliss. One is Cmajor (white keys) and F# major pentatonic (black keys). All you need are the ends of the gliss. From there you insert a gliss articulation (diagonal squiggly lines that looks similarly like the trill articulation) connecting the end notes. The maximum I've done is one gliss per bar. I have never done multiple glisses in one bar before and this is where the harp comes in. Harps do an excellent job with gliss with the use of pedals so to cover more scales.

I need a sample mus of one so I can experiment with it. If anyone knows any mus that contains multiple glisses in one bar, then give me the file here. A lot of the people have trouble transcribing the harp gliss correctly onto the score, and I mean a lot.

Does anyone know how to transcribe harp gliss? It's really fast and I can't count how many notes there are in that given duration. You may notice many of the arrangers who attempt to transcribe the harp gliss accurately all failed.

It can't be done; only Finale has this function.
