I used Finale 2008's GPO soundfont. The harp glissandos were a pain in the ass. But! I managed to get it right :)

Sounds nice and balanced. The dynamics of each instruments are good, it don't sounds heavy like everything going loud.

Thanks!

I'm gonna open a thread soon [read below]

And now for some humor advertisement.

Tired of hearing simple compliments like "sounds good" or "it's ok" because sound quality is letting you down but not your composition? Wish yours sounded uber like that Dark Overworld arrangement? Well fear not, I'll convert your arrangements and compositions using the GPO soundfont just like I did with Dark Overworld. with GPO it'll sound 10 times better that's right "10 times better!" than what it was before with GM. Here's what others said:
"One word for this arrangement: badarse! :D Nice job! It sounds like I'm in a concert hall listening to it!"
"Sounds professional. Keep up the good work~"
"Sounds nice and balanced. The dynamics of each instruments are good, it don't sounds heavy like everything going loud."

So what're you waiting for? Order NOW!
For every measure you have will cost you a nickel each. PLUS For every track (channel) used, it'll cost ya another 50 cents each. Anyone interested? Nah just kidding with ya

To be fair, I'll help convert GM compositions to GPO compositions for anyone interested. Until I create the thread that is.

Meh.

Some compositions won't sound any better even if you did use GPO on them.

Plus, GPO isn't that great itself. It's a step up from GM I'll give it that, but there nothing like professional virtual instruments like EWQL Symphonic Orchestra.

I just gave it a test on someone else's arrangement. Scratch that idea XD It's the dynamics that is the problem. People tend to put FF just to make something louder when it isn't necessary in GPO. Dynamics does not equate volume! Even if they get the dynamics right, it just isn't the same :/ I'm gonna take a look at EWQL symphonic Orchestra. Tbh I don't really like the GPO soundfont. I had to take it outside of Finale and add effects to it to make it sound good and all that is time consuming. I hope EWQL saves me the time.

I just took a look at EW/QL's site. Why the hell does it look like Gamespot's layout? They could get in trouble for that lol.

I don't think EWQL will save you much time. For get a great sound you need to work it. At least EWQL sounds cute as it come but for make it sound much better you will need to work it. Huge library of high quality of sounds. When it come to final products you always will need to take it outside of finale for add other stuffs. Anyway Finale main purpose is for notation not sequence the music. After I am done with finale I export everything to a sequencer where I use a library and add effects and other things for the final product. Time consuming will be there anyway. =P
