Well I'm not really sure if this is a very good place to put this, but I didn't see anyplace better.

So I've started arranging songs into two part medleys, then lining them up as tracks for a CD. I don't really have any hope for recording any of them, and I'm not really good enough yet anyways, but I'm still curious...

What would be a good slow song to fast song ratio? Currently I have I think four slow songs and nine fast songs. I just assumed that the not-so-musically-inclined people prefer fast songs. But now I'm doubting that.

So what would you say would be a good mix? For, say, 13 or 14 songs? What do you think the general public would like most, as opposed to most musicians.

I'd like to hear any other thoughts on the subject so shoot!

At least where I come from, as long as the music is good I'll listen to it.

Having too many slow songs can make listening a drag, but there needs to be some. Just kinda space them out.

In addition to alternating between fast/slow pieces, you also need to balance out the pieces with happy or sad moods, etc.

depends on the mood
me since my CD player holds multiple discs i jsut have multiple CDs in them
one CD has mostly fast songs
another has mostly slower songs
and so forth
and whenever i feel in the mood for whichever, i just change to taht CD and start playing
