Anyways, I like Tenmon, Mitsumune Shinkichi, Kawai Kenji, Kaoru Wada, Sahashi Toshihiko, and Noriyasu Agematsu.

Sadness and Sorrow is great. I actually have a half finished ensemble transcription of that piece. But then I noticed that there's like already 8 versions floating around on the internet, so it was dropped.

Actually, I really like Masuda too. His flute usage is excellent IMO, and his overall style is very unique (woodblocks, men shouting, even some traditional Japanese instruments if I'm not mistaken).

i love joe hisaishi, it was the music that made me want to watch the anime first. But that said, I don't know much about other anime music, yasunori mistuda is pretty good too, with the chrono trigger/chrono cross music

im all in for joe hisaishi. i love all his music.

i even have a playlist on youtube of his concert performances, they really are great.

I really like the music that Shirō Sagisu did from Evangelion and the music from Tsukihime by Toshiyuki Ōmori.

I can't decide who I think is the best. I like so many composers in the anime/game-category. Nobuo Uematsu, Yuki Kajiura, Tenpei Sato, Joe Hisaishi are just a few of them. Because I like different aspects of their music too, it's really hard to say which one is the best.

Martin O'Donnel, Jack Wall, and Mikael Karlsson are good composers too. :P The music from halo, mass effect and battlefield: bad company is just badass! XD People who don't even play the game could like it's music, because it's really good!

Also Jeremy Soule. He have nice works. His more famous is the music he did for the game Morrowind.

About the "best" composer of animes or games, I have no idea. There are various great composer that have done good work in those fields.

Koji Kondo is definitely my favorite video game composer; all the songs are pretty easy to play, and sound wonderful. Yuki Kajiura (I'm not sure if that's spelled right?) is my favorite for anime (he [or is it she...?] did make the songs from TRC, right? If not, then it must be some other person I'm thinking of...)

Nobuo is surely one of the best, along with all those Nintendo music composers.
I'm dead serious there! Nintendo suddenly enslaved all those fancy composers ever since SSBM x_X
