I have been performing for quite some time and I am going to be performing at a reunion with a string orchestra at my school. I compose and arrange pieces, but I have been torn up by mixed and contrary ideas. I was wondering if any users of this site would have any recommendations of something ( with a sweet melody )I could arrange. Please respond by August 22. Thank you.

Are there going to be any other instruments? Like a piano? I have pieces for things like Cello/Violin/Piano.

I will be playing the piano and there will be violins(12), violas (5), cellos(9), and basses(6). There is a slight chance that we could bring in a flute player (if we're lucky).

I can prepare the music. I just want some suggestions.

Hmmmm..... I like The Old Castle from Mussorgsky's Pictures at an exhibition. I have heard an arrangement for string quartet which was pretty awesome.
