Omg.

This was one of the BEST movies i have ever seen, i saw it today about 2 hours ago... It leaves me speechless, all i can say is hurry the hell up with Resident Evil 3... This movie was so awesome and Nemesis looked great, just like he did on the game Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, This movie was the best rated 10/10 for me!

All i can do is ask for you comments on the movie once you've seen it and say this to you...

Activate Project Alice...

Haha, I didn't know you'd create a topic on it.

Anyways, I haven't seen the first movie, and I never played any of the games. So I can only say that it was okay, because the dialogue and scenes seemed fake to me, like they tried too hard to make it good. The fights and action sequences were good though.

EDIT: Do you have any idea what activating Alice does? Or would that be a spoiler?

lol, i thought you meant the game. the topic might more clearly presented as "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" to avoid confusion with the game.

The first film sucked monkey balls so I don't see why another RE film wold be any good. I want a film based on Doom3 =3

Well, considering it only was recently green-lighted and they're working on casting right now I think it's a sure thing.

breaking news: racoon city is infected with sony products, (along with the t virus...)

if it was more than a 2 hour sony commercial, than i missed sumting...

shur they had then action and the drugs and the zombies...

but it seemed to have a reoccuring theme...

who cares about substance as long as ur sexy and stylish?......

body armor and fully automatic machine guns have nothing on sexy girls running around in bright blue tank tops........

hehehe....

yeah... indeed there were approximately the same number of sony products as zombies....

i enjoyed it though..

one of those movies were u just turn off ur brain....

just watch........

its fun.....

hmm, there are some spots of confusion in the movie. first, why are the dead rising out of their graves? people who kill themselves before the infection kills them stay dead. they did in the games at least. also, when jill first walks into the police station, she looks like she already has firsthand knowledge of zombies and the virus, which would place her after her adventures in RE1 and RE3. however, later she appears to be scared out of her wits in the church and school, making it look like she's never dealt with zombies before. lastly, jill meets nemesis and kills him in RE3, yet her encounters with nemesis are entirely different in the movie.

so, the first movie did make a lot more sense running parallel to the events in the game, but the second movie, although with more character tie-ins, really seem to be occurring in another universe altogether. i wish it was concurrent to, and made more references to the game instead.

Well, about the whole "killing yourself before the infection gets to you" thing isnt entirely correct. If you kill yourself before the infection has reached a certain level, it'll still bring you back as a zombie, I believe.

But now to what I thought about the movie. Well, some of the scenes from the movie were VERY obviously ripped from some of the games, which was pretty cool. Like when Alice is running from the helicopter near the end. It's obviously lifted from CODE: Veronica.

One of the things I did not enjoy was the fact that Alice was like a substitute for Wesker, of sorts. (For those of you who have played RECV know what I'm talking about.) But other than that, it was a pretty well rounded movie that I could enjoy.

One thing that I thought was interesting was the little girl. At first, I thought it was going to be Sherry Birkin, but I was pleasantly surprised :neko:

Well...I think I'll shut up now

well, in the games, there are several occurances of when you find a dead body, with a diary beside it that says "i will kill myself before i turn into one of them", but in the movie, the decomposed dead are rising. they died before they were infected, so how does that explain how they're coming back alive while people who were infected before they died do not?

Judging by the movies justifications, where Alice seemingly said that the 't-virus regenerates dead cells' was the only viable explaination I could offer for the graveyard seen, which is slightly inconsistent with Resident Evil lore, but I think the director used in for shock value unaware of the skip up.

As stated, my only guess is that since The Hive was below the ground with an infection percentage of 120%. Now it could be going far fetched when I say that the soil could be soaking in the T-Virus. This would explain why the dead are reanimated but doesn't fall in line with the blood transfusion idea presented in the games (in which a carrier passes it onto another through transfusion) etc

Overall, I think we are over analysing the film. It was great. It was enjoyable. I certainly did not pay for my ticket to scrutinise the film down to the tiniest detail (like some film reviewers who offered RE2: Apocalypse, a rather pitiful half star...).

But now to what I thought about the movie. Well, some of the scenes from the movie were VERY obviously ripped from some of the games, which was pretty cool. Like when Alice is running from the helicopter near the end. It's obviously lifted from CODE: Veronica.
I picked that up straight away. I was watching intently as she ran around with the helicopter firing after her and immediately I envisioned CODE: Veronica. Then. she did the gun motion where she dropped it and caught it again which was clearly taken straight from the game and looked unbelivabely cool.

I am seriously wondering what they are up to with the Ashford lineage. I wonder what direction they will take her

ALSO: In regards to Leon S. Kennedy, his character has been killed off in the movie's storyline. I picked up the Offical Raccon Times Promotional Paper and it declared that Jill Valentine was distraught over the loss of her partness "Leon S Kennedy".

Could be a screw up? Or mebbe he isn't necessery for what they have planned etc.

-----

Was anybody else very happy with Jill Valentine? Despite her rather over the top entrance (which is understandable...because games go over the top and this was a game-to-movie conversion...) I thought they couldn't of found anybody better. The moment Jill was walking down the basement of the school I was sent back to the dark tunnels in Resident Evil REmake and Resident Evil 3 XD She walked the exact same way...!!

Woah...big post X_X

I never really cared for Jill...neither in movie nor the games. She just seemed to be a nuisance to me. And in the movie, she was a little...eh, stupid, in my view. I mean, she couldnt even kill that one black guy after he was turned. HE WAS DEAD ALREADY! X_X

The gun dropping thing was awesome :D Very proud of them for that one. Hehe. But if you noticed, a lot of the action scenes were either taken from 3 or CV... O.o; Strange.

Another thing I wanna know is: Are they going to actually have a third movie?! I've been ranting about that for ages, and yet found nothing. Hopefully it'll have the Ashfords...they're mah favs, for some strange reason or another ^.^

well, leon's going to be in RE4, so i don't see where they're going with that... and isn't jill's partner chris? leon's paired with claire. see, this is where i wish the movies fit with the games more.

personally, i wasn't too impressed with movie-jill. as i said before, after the initial entrance, where she's calm and confident, she seemed like she has no idea what she's doing.

first, why are the dead rising out of their graves? (Sinbios Zefiris Ark on Sep 19 2004, 02:33 AM)

the dead rose out of their graves because they were dead, but their brains were still intact, i guess. since the virus deals with something in their brains, i assume that's the reason.

also, when jill first walks into the police station, she looks like she already has firsthand knowledge of zombies and the virus, which would place her after her adventures in RE1 and RE3. however, later she appears to be scared out of her wits in the church and school, making it look like she's never dealt with zombies before. lastly, jill meets nemesis and kills him in RE3, yet her encounters with nemesis are entirely different in the movie. (Sinbios Zefiris Ark on Sep 19 2004, 02:33 AM)

This thing with Jill is what made me like the first movie a LOT better than the second one. She was so clueless in the movie that I was complaining nonstop to my brother for the rest of the day after I watched it. I'm guessing when I say this: RE1 and RE3 never happened in the movie. Jill probably fought one or two zombies before you see her go into the police station. Then when she saw the more advanced zombies (are they called lickers or something?), she gets scared cause those things can bite your head off in an instant (remember these things from RE2?). The school was filled with a lot of children, so maybe she was afraid of them ganging up on her. Nemesis, she probably never even met...

btw, i hate what nemesis does in the end... the ending would have been better if it had been something more similar to RE3, but since they put alice in the movie, the storyline changed quite a lot.

Even though this movie wasn't as good as I thought it would be, I'll be looking forward to RE3: Afterlife ^^

It'd be possible to kill yourself & be sure of not coming back if the method of death destroys the brain, unless it veered off into return of the living dead territory, funny zombie films at times but they dont half destroy all known zombie film facts
