Does it affect the sound of your piano? Or did you really like the pen? If it doesn't, and you didn't, I guess I'd probably just leave it in there. If you want the pen back that badly, you could always turn the piano upside-down and shake it out!

Open the piano and pick it out?

Do you know where the pen slipped into the piano? where did it slip into the piano from?

Either the front panel under the keys/above the pedals. Or access from the back.

Flush it out by filling your piano with water...if that doesn't work, I have an idea that includes a flamethrower, a sledgehammer, and a cat skeleton that would get that pen out faster and with less damage than the first option...^.^

But you could always try removing the back panel. I like my first two ideas better though...

yeah, I think you should try removing the back panel
If it's fallen from the front, i don't really know what to do, ask other members.

Call a piano tuner, they know there way around pretty much every type of piano and can probably get the pen back out.

some piano's have a door that unlatches that is located under the keyboard, this door is usually opened when adjustments need to be made to the pedals, it gives you complete access to the bottom of the piano. That is the best way to get stuff that has fallen into the piano.

How does a pen fall into an upright piano? 0_o Anyway, I think it would be a good idea to have a piano tuner or some other professional to get it out. It would really suck to break your piano trying to do it yourself. XD

I agree that it would be best to call a professional (sure you don't wanna try my cat skeleton...?). I would just call and ask first if pen-removal is included in their services, or how much it would cost.

If the pen doesn't damage the piano, you could simply wait a couple months until you need to tune it again and have the pen removed then.

True, you should ask a professional, cause you don't want to ruin the piano

But you also don't want to pay just to have a panel opened for a pen.

Lift it upside down and shake it out.

Lift it upside down and shake it out.

That would be an accident just WAITING to happen. XD

Anyway, even if a piano tuner/music tech would do it, I wouldn't pay for it if I were you. It is kind of dumb to pay someone just to remove a pen out of a piano.
