Hello! Thanks for checking out this thread... I decided that as long as I'm on the forums, I might as well share my compositions. I did these a while ago - during the 2006/2007 school year - for a composition class that I was in. While I'm pretty much considering them done, I would love any feedback that you have because I'm still trying to make time to compose and could use any advice that you have!
Anyway, my favorite of the three is Protect. (Don't ask about the names. I'm terrible at naming things.) I don't like the other two so much... Also, they can all be played on the piano. My teacher liked us to use different instruments, though - Imperious was originally violin with piano accompaniment.
I'm leaving tomorrow and I'm not going to be back for about a week, but I would love to hear what you think! Thanks for taking the time to look at this. :)

Welcome to Ichigo's! :)
Imperious- Avoid close spacing of bass notes. It is necessary to complete the chord, but there are other ways to, like moving one of the notes of the chord up or down an octave or two.
With the other two, I would suggest trying to harmonize the melody other than using arpeggios. It seems as though you used the piano's left hand part as the cello and the right hand as the flute...

Okay, I'll try to apply that! Thank you very much ^_^

Imperious - Not bad, but I think it is very repetitive. It gets boring around the middle of the song.
Persistance - That cello part isn't playable. :heh: If you want it that low, it would be better to use a bass instead of a cello.
Protect - Not bad, but it seems like the cello part is the same 2 measures over and over again. As I was listening to the song, I thought that measure 9 was a good spot to change it, so try changing it to something else there. This song is a bit repetitive though. :heh:
Welcome to ichigos BTW. Don't worry about the names, be glad you can even come up with song titles. I'm terrible at that. XD

Haha, I didn't notice that for Persistence... At the end of the year, we had our classmates 'preform' our pieces. We have a very good cellist and the high notes on Protect were a little iffy even for her. My bad! Haha. It's really easier if you know something about the instruments, huh? xD Thanks for pointing that out. I'll probably have to work on the repetitive bit a lot.. my teacher was all about doing the same thing multiple times with little variances. Thanks for your feedback; I'll try to work on that next time! ^_^

Really? I didn't think those high notes were too hard. :P
Oh, that reminds me. xD If you can, make measures 27-28 in the cello part of protect in tenor clef. It's alot easier for someone performing it to read tenor clef than a million ledger lines. XD

Haha, I guess you're right. But can you do that in Finale Notepad? That's the only software I have... I think that I've tried to do something like that before, but I couldn't figure out how. :\

Nope, one cannot do clef changes in Notepad (you're going to need at least Printmusic for that).
