I do it by midipiano and looking at it.... is that bad

Erm...well...your not as bad as some I guess, but being able to put the sheet on a prop on top of the piano and reading it then playing it is better.

But that's actually good if you have a MIDI and not the sheet because then you don't need a sheet.

i think i do it the same way, i'm not sure what you call it.

i use the sheet music, but i look at the little screen (on my keyboard) and press the keys untill i see the same one on the sheet. and i've been playing my keyboard for nearly 7-8 years, if i just stopped and forced myself to not use the screen and remember the letters, i could probably learn it in a few days...

I just read the sheet music then play the same measure over and over...then I memorize it and don't play with the sheet music...

I do it very similarly to you stalker. I first like to hear the piece, and then follow the sheet music while listening to it. Then playing it :D

I read it. It takes a while because I'm slow at reading music, but it gets done eventually.

i don't have a midi keyboard. i use a piano.

any input i use for transcribing/recording i use my computer keyboard. sucks i know. need to get a midi keyboard.

it's just painful not to have any music instruments..
haven't got one myself, but to learn I read.
Then practise it over and over.

But you won't get far by doing this =/

I usually print out the sheet music then practice the first ten notes over and over until I memorize it, then I go off to the next set. It's a tedious process but I'm still slow at reading music.

Listen to the song a few times over and play it :S
