Recommended Prerequisites: Dance Till Tomorrow [Manga], Saikano [Manga], Koi Kaze [Manga]. DO NOT READ DURING PERIODS OF DEPRESSION!

WARNING!: This Manga Is Intended for Mature Readers Only! It Contains Numerous Sex Scenes, and Discusses Several Controversial Themes. Strongly Recommended That You Have Had Some Sexual Experience Before Reading This. Can Permanently Change Your Outlook on Life. Continue at Your Own Risk

Synopsis (Spoiler Free): Story of a family living in Japan. The father is always away from home due to work, and the mother is forced to raise her two daughters by herself. The manga starts with the father returning from home, and witnessing what has become of his beloved family while he was away. Trying to set it all right and keeping the family from falling apart is the basis of the story. Themes covered: bullying (Gantz-type), suicide, sex, lewd behaviour, religion, and: rape, masturbation.

My Take: Incredible. Few mangas have such a deep and touching story to tell, and it's incredible that the mangaka actually had the courage to cover this subject. It's sad that works of this type would most likely be censored elsewhere, and that I have to turn to manga to get this kind of emotional experience instead of literature.

In terms of emotional impact, few can beat it. Stands proudly with Koi Kaze and Saikano (and Saikano side-story) in that respect, and at times overcomes them. Even though I am not new to disturbing and controversial manga, even I had to force myself to finish it. The emotional impact it had on me was incredible, and instantly visible - I can no longer watch pornography with more than two people involved. I am not kidding. It is really that powerful. What's scary is that the story is not as farfetched as may seem - I'm confident that this is not only possible, but frequently does happen (older sister). And regarding the younger sister? Happens all the time. Sad, touching, and will hit you hard. Be prepared for it!

Availability: Considering the subject matter discussed, the chances of this coming over to the US are nonexistent. Thankfully, it has already been fully scanlated by a certain group, and a moderate google search will reward you with an amazing story.

The first volume starts off with a bang, so much that the second one may seem somewhat slow. But I urge you to force yourself to finish it, because all in all it is an incredible piece of work, with an interesting moral within.
