I personally like this series, but when asked for reasons I am lost for words. It really isn't a masterpiece, offers nothing new. But I think people love it because the author tried so hard to appeal to the heart with cheesy plot twists and adjectives. I'm also being a fan boy for the sake of being a fan boy of something, seeing how there are no more Harry Potter books being released.

Anyone else read Twilight?

lolololol I couldn't get past the first 20 pages. Maybe if I read this when I too, was a raging 14 year old fangirl...

I read the first book due to the whole year level *school is all-girls* talking about it everyday =_=

I liked the first three books but vocab-wise it's quite poor since every freaking sentence is about Edward's physical features, but at the same time it's damn addictive heheh.... I admit this story is pretty cliche with the "hottest guy" falling in love with a new girl and life endangering things happen to her that forces the guy to come to her side. I thought there was alot of unecessary problems that took up 40% of the book that were fixed in less than a page that made me of "oh."

The last book really killed the series for me, nothing special happened and the characters making out like 6 times and Bella having "that" was starting to throw me off @_@ so after 600 pages I quit and listened to others to spoil the ending for me~

First three books were okay, last book killed it and makes me look back and hiss at the trailer and looking at the preview chapters of Midnight Sun.

I never got into the fangirl phase of "OMG EDWARD <3" but the story could be a bit better with more imagination in plot twist and originality rather than suckering up to Edward (or Jacob)
Sorry if i've raged about the series though you might've started to like it :heh:....*happy mode*

first book was undoubtedly the best. OH AND A MOVIE IS COMING OUT. the second book SUCKED because of JACOB. the third book was OKAY again because of JACOB. and the last book killed the series. and yes i have read them all.

i hate that jacob.

I would've prefered it if Edward wasn't described being overly-godly-purtyful. Ironically I would've found him more attractive if he looked more normal~ I dont find unaturally pale people attractive -_-

Is this the vampire one? I read it b4 and....well never picked it up again cuz it was "just another book". If it is, then a movie is coming out for it and it looks pretty good. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1099212/

I dont think it's going to be good to the book counterpart -_-
but then again it's like comparing Harry Potter books > movie, I never read the books and I thought the movies (as in me watching only the 1st and 2nd) were pretty good.

I think when I watch it, my inner-bookreading-conciousness will be screaming at me about the new and cut-out scenes.
But the movie is prolly going to be crappy IMO, but i'll still see it, much like watching DBZ movie for lols

I Concur.

I am led to believe that the books where much better and a bit less... stylized. Or so I have been told. Either way, I won't be seeing or reading it, does not seem to be my cup of tea.

rofl, I got invited to go see Twilight with 8 other classmates last night o_o....

Some parts were horribly cheesy and awkward that people in the cinema laughed
Other than that the SFX were lollable and I cringed a lot at the awkward scenes, especially when Edward was "shining like a diamond" looked like he was sweating like a pig. Everything else was alright~

At the end it was slightly better than my low expectation because of the unintentional humour (I ended up laughing at all the serious scenes)

I liked them...haha...
I just got done reading them all. But really I didn't think they were terrible.
I do agree about the lack of action....I wish there would be ALOT more, and especially in the last book. I mean CMON!!
But other than that I really enjoyed them :)
But I thought she had lots of detail. I'm glad she did, that way we could get a beter view of how to picture things and people.

But yeah, it's like everywhere I go theres girls dying about it. But oh well...
LOVED THE BOOKS...

in the first book it makes edward look really hot then it's just really the same dribble in the other books but the last one was alright but the ending seemed rushed they were going to have to fight an army then they just talk it out and every thing is fine and the second one was so damn boring when he left.

Very true. I have read each book about 6 times... But to tell you the truth I only read them all again over and over to see whether there was anything better in the other books.

The Twilight series is an abomination of the English language. If one was to remove all of the descriptions of Edward's otherworldly beauty or all of the passages where Bella is proclaiming her inferiority to him, the entire series would be about 10 pages long. Stephenie Meyers is an idiot who deserves to be shot for her Hitchcockian cameo in that godforsaken film. Also, Robert Pattison is ugly. I'm sure he smells terrible.

That being said, I'm almost positive the pages of the books have crack cocaine woven into them. I own all of the books. And I hate myself for this. =D Have a nice day!

Oh and p.s. Edward is an abusive, overly possessive boyfriend. Before they began dating, he was a textbook psychotic stalker.

I agree with you all the way besides the part where Steph. should be shot.
Look you could at least give her some credit for writing somewhat a 1000 pages of crap. Other than that you can pick on Rob Pat all you want he's weird... and ugly... and probably smelly aswell. Hehe.

Oh by the way I've read the series, the deleted scenes and almost everything related to it. I was obsessed when I finished the series but not anymore. Although I am excited for the New Moon movie.

I liked new moon so much better than twilight. I don't know. Maybe it's because I really click with jacob. Like I completely understand where he's coming from. To truly love somebody and have them almost love you back but then reject you for some suicidal ex-boyfriend. Story of one of my ex-relationships.

I'm not a fan at all. I'm not a hater; I've read too many good books to appreciate the plot, which is hopefully intended for middle schoolers.

Look you could at least give her some credit for writing somewhat a 1000 pages of crap.
That's something I don't understand. Why did she expand what should have been a 150-200 page book to over 500 pages? (And I see on her website that she actually left out several scenes >.>) The story might be a little better if there wasn't so much inert shit to sort through.

Well, I'm not believer that Twilight and it's respective sequels are anywhere near the definition of a good piece of literature, or movies either, but in it's defense, a lot of people here like shit manga and anime, but refuse to see that way.

Ok god will people stop making such a big deal about this it's like it's good but like .saea said it's really cheezy I've seen both movies read all four books nothing special and if you want to really understand love then expirience it for yourself. Twilight series is ok, but it don't really catch my eye like when I was younger. So do yourself a favor and think before you act.
