ok, I just found some music I want to play. (It's for the piano) Is it better to play the melody on the clarinet or play the alto sax sheets and change it a bit?

It depends on the piece and your personality. I feel a clarinet fits to a piano better than a sax, but others feel a sax fits just fine.
As for transposing, the sax would be a little harder to read on the fly than the clarinet but it is possible.

It could also depend on how low or high the melody goes, but I wouldn't expect it to go as low the middle of f clef, so Mies' suggestion would work. You could also transpose it on the computer prior to printing it to make things easier. I'm assuming you know how to do the transposing though.

Or Bb if your playing the clarinet (up 2 half steps or just read up 1 step and rase the key with 2 sharps).. Yeah that didn't work (it confused me)... Just use a program...
