i was wondering how come there are so many songs / pieces that don't have the original sheet music available that you guys have to do the transcriptions???

like i have a lot of fav music that i simply cannot find sheet music for... how come? don't the producers like sell their sheet music?

Basically, the market nitch for anime and video game sheet music is too small to make any sort of profit off of it.

Bookstores in Japan carry them.

I'd agree about the small niche thing.. while there are more sheet music books available in Japan, there are just sooooo many series, and especially for the ones that aren't blockbusters, it's just not worth the time and publishing to release sheet music when so few people would buy it. I think it's nice that the Final Fantasy series is able to release a new piano collections book with really nice arrangements for each new game in the series, but they've got a pretty established series going with a reputation for good music anyway, so it's kind of in their best interest, where a one-season-only anime series with average music probably won't be pushed for sheet music release.

But when it is released, you have to pay.

I'll bet most people in the sheet music requests forum dont want to pay for their music, hence they come here.

And then complain..
