I don't think age matters that much. As long as you have the drive to learn the instrument.

If you know how to read notes your set... It doesn't matter how old you are. Also if you can memorize chords you can read practically and lead sheet.

16 ain't old. And please don't make a new thread when there already is one (and a fairly recent and active one, too)
