how high does it go? if it's beyond a F on the top ledger lines, then someone probably just took it straight out of a midi, in which case you just have to play it down an octave.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but cant a sax jump an octave up by adjusting their ombisure (sp?), thus making notes above the F (thinking it's F5) possible?

i play every sax from alto to bari.

Mies: you can indeed use your lips instead of the octave key, but you can only tighten so much before it just drops down an ocatve from what you're trying to play. the highest the three most common saxes (i don't know about soporano or bass) can go is a high F on common fingering charts.

kariekh: if your instrument's messed up, there's nothing we can help you with.

i checked gravity from wolf's rain, and it's for concert pitch. that means you have to transcribe it up a second for t sax, which is a B flat instrument. everything should be playable except for the odd E (F after the transcription), in which case i can't help you since it's not transcribed for saxes to play.

the melody wasn't for piano, it was for a solo voice.

Ya know, i was just learning to play tenor (i'm really good on alto) but is the lowest note the Bb? All six keys with the bottom and top pinky thingys, right? I know its A on the bari, but how low on tenor?

the only way to play an a on a bari is with the second thumb key, and i don't know if they make that thumb key for tenor/alto. of course, you could always just push down all the keys individually :D

Please slow down and use sentences and maybe a dictionary. It's very hard to read your post. I think you're talking about embouchre but I'm not sure. Or you may be calling yourself an amature. I can help with embouchre but without specifics I don't think anyone can really help you.

The spacers shouldn't affect your playing too much. You may notice a difference at first but after a couple of weeks it shouldn't matter. I played Tenor Sax and Bass Clarinet for two years with braces and never noticed it impeding my playing ability.
