It's my most recent crack that I've been addicted to. So far I've read Suzumiya Haruhi, Sekai no Senki, and I've been working on Toradora and Kara no Kyoukai with BakaTsuki, as well as following Shakuragan no Shana, Spice and Wolf, Zero no Tsukaima; and I read one meager volume of The Twelve Kingdoms.

I'm trying to translate ToAru Majitsu no Index and Rental Magica, but the the dialog is killer for what little bit I do know and for my trusty machine translator. I can't even get past page one. Show's my skill level :heh:

Wow you read a lot! I havent really read much but I love them, and their fun and easy to get into...(Well it was for me, I dont know about others.) So far I've only read most of the .hack series, Calling you by Otsu Ichi, Welcome to NHK, the first volume of Missing Spirited Away, and I've just started Kino no Tabi. And also I've been wanting to start The Twelve Kingdoms this next week, is it good? (Hopefully.)

It's okay your a better translator then i'll ever be.

Oh one more thing, which light novels would you reccomend?

At best, Twelve Kingdoms is boring. It divulges too much into history than I can fancy, but they balance it out with action.

As for a suggestion, I'd go with the Suzumiya Haruhi novels (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haruhi_Suzumiya_(light_novels)). You can't really go wrong with it. It has humor, action, science fiction, prose, and a certain knack about it that's rare to find in any form of entertainment. You may have to wait a while for an official translation of the product, as Little Brown takes its sweet time copying the BakaTsuki scripts; with the projected English release date of April 2009.

As for what's out right now, you already have one of the best: Kino no Tabi. Full Metal Panic, though stretched though the anime and manga, also has an excellent book, which focuses more on the whisper, rather than on the action.

Strawberry Panic has had a lot of positive reviews from other enthusiasts, but I can't tell if that's fanboy/fangirl-ism going on, or if the Yuri truly is excellent. Regardless, I feel as though it'll pale to compare to MareMite (only released in Japanese).

Could you tell me where to find those, I'd really appreciate it. Right now my favorites would definitely Kino no Tabi, Welcome to the NHK, and Slayers( Lina Inversehas been my favorite character since I was 10).

Most of them can be found as projects on Baka-Tsuki. A link to the site can be found in my signature. As for ToAru and Rental Magica, you can buy them direct here (http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%81%A8%E3%81%82%E3%82%8B%E9%AD%94%E8%A1%93%E3%8 1%AE%E7%A6%81%E6%9B%B8%E7%9B%AE%E9%8C%B2-%E3%82%A4%E3%83%B3%E3%83%87%E3%83%83%E3%82%AF%E3%8 2%B9-%E3%82%AC%E3%83%B3%E3%82%AC%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B3%E3%8 3%9F%E3%83%83%E3%82%AF%E3%82%B9-%E9%8E%8C%E6%B1%A0-%E5%92%8C%E9%A6%AC/sim/475752157X/2/ref=pd_cp_b_sexpl) and here (http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/series/91434/ref%3Dpd_serl_books/375-6426121-5533113%3Fie%3DUTF8%26edition%3Dpaperback_bunko&usg=ALkJrhg0N-QFwa4eDKJeL05uissbaSztZg) respectively.
