What's your all time favorite soundtrack...I think mine would have to be the soundtrack from Spirited Away. I love the music by Joe Hisaishi and the New Japan Philharmonic. What's yours?

I really like the one from the Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion the Witch and The Wardrobe. Especially Evacuating London.

Out of all my albums that I've downloaded/bought, the soundtrack to Quiet Country Cafe is still with me after all these years, despite repeated cleansing of my music library. (aka Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou).

edit: I love The Reprise from the Spirited Away soundtrack. I also downloaded the East Winds Symphonic album from iTunes. It redoes the main themes for the different Miyazaki works.

The best soundtrack I own is advent rising's soundtrack. Tommy Tallarico's music is the shit. xD Seriously, I heard half of the samples on itunes, and I just had to buy it. =D

For me it's the OST for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. I <3 the orchestration in there. Otherwise, I like the OSTs for Advent Children, the French movie Amelie, and Miyazaki's Howl's Moving Castle.

The Twilight Soundtrack all the way... My favorite song is "Bella's Lullaby". But that's just me, A sucker for soft sad type music. XD

Hey, I'm listening to the soundtrack to Howl right now. "Sky Stroll" is my favorite track.

well not to get all fanboy nerdy on you but, i must say i enjoyed the soundtracks to final fantasy x, final fantasy 7 doc, and musashi: samurai legend.

Final fantasy x: good lord, i bought this for about 40 dollars...Completely worth it. it features music by junya nakano, Nobuo uemetsu, and my favorite Masashi hamauzu!
it creates a perfect blend of epicness, ambience, and lounge music :P

Final fantasy 7 doc: most people look past the soundtrack to this game but i think its fantastic!!!!

musashi: samurai legend: i think most people agree when i say this game was just another square enix piece of sh**t, but the only reason why i continued to play it was because i bought it for 10 dollars and it featured and ambient like soundtrack composed by my two favorite composers, junya nakano and masashi hamauzu

yeah...

I have ALOT of soundtracks from movies, but I think my favorite is The Lord of the Rings ones. The music gives me goosebumps all the time, and I always feel like I'm being swept off my feet when I listen to them. Renee Fleming has such an amazing voice for her solos, and Howard Shore is the one of the best composers out there. His music for those movies is so...beautiful.
Okay, maybe I'm over-doing it.:heh:

As soon as I read that, I ran off to youtube to check it out, because it reminded me of "byousoku five cm," and I figured it was another sad anime. Turns out, it's a sad j-drama, instead! I don't usually watch these, but the music did seem really good in the part I watched, and it did look like it could be pretty damned sad, so just how good is it?

As for being on topic, I really love most anything Jo Hisaishi writes, especially the mononoke soundtrack. Secret of Mana had an amazing soundtrack, and most of the Zelda games are equally good. Clannad is great, too!

Speaking of the Macross OST... When watching the series, I was distinctly reminded of Phantom of the Opera and Pirates of the Caribbean pieces, anyone else have similar thoughts?

My favorite of all time has to be ef - a tale of memories/melodies... Can't wait for part 2 of Melodies' OST to come out!

Recently looked back into Death Note's OST. It's surprisingly good! I haven't heard this much orchestrated stuff coming from an anime in a long while.
