So I got Finale Notepad 2009 and decided to compose a song cause I'm a musician and I felt it proper. And I think I did a pretty good job.
Due to the limitations of notepad the midi is not all it can be, keep that in mind. The composition itself is also far from perfect, so any criticisms are welcome. Try not to hurt my feelings though.

Weird, twisted and quite unexpected... I like it =) The quiet 3-beat section in the middle there kind of ruined the song's otherwise fine rhythmic progression, but other than that I enjoyed it.

You forced me to get 2009 sooner than I wanted....<_<.
But it was worth it! I really liked this! I thought that the quiet parts were a good contrast. The only thing I didn't enjoy as much as the rest was the ending. You could make it much more dramatic.

Wow. This piece rocked. =)
I love your chords, they kind of remind me of the fun stuff I like to do, (dissonants, etc.) but it has a great feel and it really does come together nicely. I love the title; Overall, it just reminded me of a Frank Zappa type of thing; extremely dramatic piece and then putting a sloppily funny title on it. XD
I'd like to hear more, my fine boy!

Yup. My thoughts exactly. You had some nice stuff going on up until somewhere between 64 and 72. Then you got back on track, but those last two bars just seemed kinda silly to me. It may have just been finale's piano sound that was playing with my ears though. Nice. Let's hear some more! ^_^

Wow, thanks guys! I definitely agree with your comments; the slow part in the middle and the last two bars were my least favorite parts as well. I'll be fixing that...today, I guess. Thanks again for the positive feedback.

And it's done (it was actually done the day I made my last post, I just didn't upload it). I don't feel like editing it anymore, so this is it. I can't edit it anyway cause my demo time for Noetpad 2009 ran out. I give you the completed version of OMGIMONFIRE (ŏm'jēmŏnfē'rā)

I've written another piece. Little bit of a story behind this one. The melody, created by my step brother Nick, is derived from a song he sings to his brother Dan, and the lyrics are as follows:
"Doucher Dan knows he's just a douche bag, but he still goes and tries to be cool."
I took it and built off it, pretty much as a joke. Here's the result.

All right, it's been a while since I made my last post. I just composed something, I think it's cool, I hope you like it.
There are a couple of things, like crescendos and decrescendos, that didn't show up in the audio file. And at about 3:00 the left hand in the piano goes nuts. I didn't put that there, so don't critique me about that. With that said, enjoy!

I like it, for the most part, but I think you should add some reverb. It kind of feels like an excerpt from a piano concerto, so I think you should expand upon the ideas in this piece and fully develop the thematic elements which are present.

I agree with deathraider in expanding on the ideas some more. You've definitely got a consistent theme throughout which is nice, but it'd be even better if you could develop it in less obvious ways than just straight repetition - it'd be a lot more effective and rewarding when you finally do come full circle back to the main theme, in my opinion.
