Nationality kind of means what does your passport say. I think the topic should more be like "what's your ethnic background" (without trying to sound racist, lol).

I'm half English and half Chinese, but British.

Lol, when looking at ethnic backgrounds, all Americans aside from the native Americans are just Europeans who stole the country from the native Americans. Australians are all former British criminals (except for the aboriginals) :P

So people saying "I'm 100% American" are either native Americans or lying ;)

Try speaking American - it's the only language I know!
That said, I'm a bit Polish, French(-Canadian? I dunno), Portuguese, Irish, and I think something else.
I'm also 100% AMERICAN!

Indeed, it's true. We Americans are just a bunch of people who said "screw you!" to Europe. Australians are just a bunch of people Europe said "screw you!" to. XD

Italian, German, and Russian mainly, but every time those stupid written or email surveys come around and ask you what race you are, I always put "human" because it never really mattered to me.

when I stand next to other asians I can tell that Im actually a shade of yellow. Then the other day I had yellow nerds(the candy not the geeks, I dont eat people dispite common misconception) and my fingers turned more yellow, according to me but my friends couldnt tell the difference cos it was apparently the same color to them.

this is a thread that isnt intentionally racist but actually is lol.
So what am I? 100% chinese farmer of course haha, Ima go back to my hometown one day and grow eggplants until I grow old. Mmmmm eggplant.

Well Australians were originally from Europe (not the Indigenous) so being half British-Australian count?

But again people, this thread is about nationality, not about race. So look at your passpord, and see what it says there. That's your nationality.

English for a few generations, then it splits off into Scottish for half the family, stays at English as far back as we've traced for the other side.

According to one passport I'm Australian and that's where I live - so I'm one of those Pommy Aussies!

It says I'm Australian =.="
Glad it says that instead of some other anti Australian crap that would get me into trouble at the airport.

But yeah, If I said I was Australian, then you'd think I'm a white Aussie bloke like Phard right?

Neko Koneko
January 19th, 2009, 11:42 am
Not really, because that doesn't have anything to do with nationality. That's a racial matter.

Neko Koneko

Do people even understand what the topic of this thread is? Basically, have a look at your passport or ID card. Whatever it says under "nationality" is what you have to post in this topic. Nothing else. Where you currently live doesn't change your nationality unless you gave up your old passport and became a citizen of the country where you currently live.

random_tangent
June 30th, 2009, 02:12 pm
Well, not necessarily. For me, it depends which passport you look at as to which nationality I am - since I hold both a British one and an Australian one. Primarily, I would identify myself as Australian however, because that IS where I live, and where I have lived for most of my life.

And yeah, I know I already posted in this thread ;)

Neko Koneko
June 30th, 2009, 02:46 pm
