I recently tried to transcribe Etude Bird (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dj94ummDOP4) from ToraDora!

I'm very new to music so I got some help from a program called Transcribe! and managed to put this sheet music composition together (http://sites.google.com/site/caster13things/Home/EtudeBird.pdf).

I mostly just tried to follow the melody, alternating between piano and violin depending on which was most prominent to my ear.

I'd appreciate any advice, criticism, etc. Also, if anybody wants to modify/clean up the sheet music, feel free to do so. I composed it in MuseScore and I can post the *.mscz file if anyone wants it.

Hmmm a midi would be nice. Just for future reference, piano notation is always on a grand staff, and I'd say the first two 16th notes are a pickup - that would make the rest of the song look a lot neater.

OK...just listened to this piece in the show, and it's a bit more complex (for my standards). The strings are hard to transcribe for me (I don't really wanna bother).

But here's the first two measures of the piano, I'm pretty sure it's correct.

edit: grand staff, yes always, but lol, I forgot.

On top of that there are also a lot of rhythm misspellings. Notes in common time should be grouped together in such a way that they show all four beats of the measure. Such as...

Notice how ties are made use of to break notes apart in order to keep the groupings together as four groups. This is generally done so that the musician has an easier time reading the music and counting in their head.

As for the accuracy of the composition itself I cannot say. Your YouTube link is also broken now. :heh:

Actually I listened to it a few times and I'm pretty sure that in the second measure bass it just goes strait to f c e c f c e c instead of f c f c f c e c. And I'm kind of new to this so could some one tell me how you did the notes on a comment?
