The watchmen is probably my favorite comic from DC, I really do hope this movie is cus the trailers look awesome. Though my only problem with them making it in to a movie is the story it's self. One of the major reasons it hasn't been done already is that there is way too much going on making the story hard to follow I'm really interested in how they get this to work. Other then my minor doubts, LONG LIVE RORSCHACH!!!! ( please forgive spelling ^_^)

It would be more correct to say "my favorite comic from Alan Moore", since it's practically his work entirely. DC just published it.

On that note, hoping to see it tomorrow. From the impressions coming in, it just might be better than V for Vendetta. And even that doesn't mean it'll be good.

no squid seems like an incredibly stupid move, but meh

I very much enjoyed V for Vendetta (I liked the movie more than the comic version, surprisingly), and I'm looking forward to seeing Watchmen this weekend. It'll be impressive if they pull it off well.

wow...

Edit: just watched it :)

It certainly is impressive - the fights, the atmosphere, everything. However, it feels a bit sterile. I can't explain it, but you know the "Wow" feeling after a great movie? It's missing. Everything about the movie is awesome, except the "awesome" factor. And it's not just me, a person who read it. My friends who watched it the first time were also unimpressed. So, even though it has all the necessary components of a great movie, it's not - the charm isn't there. Which just proves that Moore's work is not for the silver screen. But, definitely worth a watch.

oh well, I bet he's having a good laugh right now ^_^

I just saw it, it was great. One of the better I've seen this year, but I totally agree with Alone. Plus it didn't have much of an impact on me since I already knew what was going to happen having read the comic already.

LONG LIVE RORSCHACH!

Anyway, Watchmen was awesome, even if I'm not a huge comic fan, it's still awesome. The transitions between present and past is filmed to perfection, can't have a smoother transition than that.

One issue though, they really could've cut back on the sex scenes. Honestly, is it that necessary to show it for 10+ mins?

I somewhat agree with you. I think the director did a great job of being faithful to the source. I can't really pinpoint anything wrong about the movie. But I do believe the book is just better. Maybe it's because the events and background information in the book unfolds at a nicer pace.
