I'm pissed. People are harder to paint than I thought they'd be. <_<
Whatever, though. I'll try again soon and post the results here. I gotta learn somehow, I guess. ;__;

Doesn't look as bad as you say it is. You can say it's an expressionistic art, more like Fauvism style. :)

The Good:

I like the colors you used, and the hair turned out nicely. The actual face size looks good, and the shadow of her chin down on her neck was very tasteful.

The Bad:

Lazy eye, malformed right shoulder, nose isn't square, the bust is either sagging or are under-defined, the ear is too low on the head, and she's apparently a hunchback as the point where the neck meets the shoulders has two apparent connection points (the most apparent, correct one; and a second one where the black line marks the end of the spinal column), lips have too much gloss, the nostrils are way over defined.

scary. I have no idea why. I think it is the eyes.

Her eyes are pretty huge but it's not that bad, it's your first portrait after all

lol, you could say that about any bad painting, though. XD

Thanks, thanks.

Aye, the eyes I probably could have fixed, but they were driving me crazy as is, so I gave up on them. The boob I just couldn't get right for the life of me. The ear is in the correct position I think, actually, or at least close enough to be debatable. It still seems fine to me even after you pointing it out. Maybe I should put the painting to a mirror, though. My brain could just be seeing it wrong, since I drew it. I didn't notice the problem with her back, but now that you mention it, it is wrong, so thanks for pointing that out! As for the lips and nostrils, mah painting skills just weren't any match for them. My reference was actually a bubblegum J-pop looking girl, though, and she had that crazy strawberry lipstick on. I probably should have toned her lips down, though, since I didn't end up painting a j-idol in the end, hahah. And the nostrils I just.....couldn't get right. The shading on them was just way more gradual and complex than I'm used to/capable of. Hopefully next time I'll have a bit more luck. Thanks for the in-depth critique, M! I'll try harder next time. =D

She sees everythiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing. >:3
You should have seen her eyes before though. They were giving me nightmares. "What devilry hath I wrought?! What sin against God hath I crafted with these tainted hands?!?!?! D:"

Hai, hai. I think the next one will be a lot better; this one taught me a lot. Thanks for the comment, d!

And thanks for the comments, everyone else! :3
I'm leaving Thursday morning for Florida, and I'm working tomorrow, but I'm hoping I have Wednesday off, so I can try once more before I leave for vacation. I'll update then!

I don't think the drawing is that bad...but her eyes have no pupils, are opened really widely which makes her look surprised, and the part of the eye that should be white isn't, and the lips look a bit too puckered. Also, for the ear, the bottom part is a bit too wide. Usually for an ear it goes in at the bottom unless you want it to sag... But you did a really good job with the lighting and shading...which I have trouble with... and the hair is really good too...I always have a tendency to make my hair either spikey or poofy at the end...
