I mentioned this in one of my other threads...whenever I scan something there's always a red tint on my scanned copy which makes it harder to edit...is that a scanner problem or can I fix it? Another problem I have is my scanned pictures come up like... 2000x2000 pixels...yeah...that's a problem...by the time I'm done scaling it down its so distorted you can't even tell what it's supposed to be. And when you can tell, the pixels spread out...which still makes it harder to edit. Any suggestions?

Most of the time, cheap scanners are shipped with predetermined settings. Anyone in the art and computer field knows that nothing is 100% compliant, so the shipped settings might be skewed. The only way to adjust this is to adjust the software you use to scan, and use a standard color sheme (such as the Gernot Hoffmann (www.fho-emden.de/~hoffmann/a3gencolorhigh.pdf)) to scan with and adjust the settings colors until you get something you find satisfactory.
