The theme gets predictable and the second half lacked in balance. Other then that, I'd say you're off on a good start. :p

Not bad for a first composition, but just a few things that bothered me. :heh: First, I don't think the piano works well with the marimba and bass. I would recommend finding an instrument that works better. Also, at measure 34-37, the sudden piano solo is kind of awkward. If you could add a better transition/some harmony, it would make that spot alot better.

Other than that, pretty good! :P

AH! I love minimalism! And I see you have used one of my favorite (and also probably one of Philip Glass's favorite) chord progression in the beginning. :D I liked all the different sections, but they lacked flow. Work on the transitions and the overall coherency of the piece, and I think you'll have something really sweet. And yeah, that piano solo was kinda awkward and random.
Also, I've been listening to a lot of really "minimalistic" pieces lately. So to me your piece lies on the very edge of the genre, if even that. Still, pretty good job. :)

Hey Sam, Eddie here. I have to say, your piece is much better than mine, but its not much to beat since Sibelius deleted my old piece, my new one's only 30 bars long, damn sibelius. Anyway, its good, but repetitve like everyone says.

I agree, the first section was more exciting and interesting the the second section. You could try A-B-A format and repeat the first section if you wanted. I also think you need to work on the ending, because to me it just happened. You could either end with a big bang, or in minimalistic fashion slowly fade out the instruments one by one.
