Local clubs can be good, people sometimes host them in churches and halls. Look out for them, you can learn piano, guitar and other instruments all for £5 a week, it's a really long lesson and is really cheap, if your short on cash, go to them sort of things.

Me? Well, I pay for some really expensive women named Lilly Pavlova and she cost £15 per 45 mins! I know, she's a bit of a rip of but I've done 3 1/2 grades in less than a year!

I took classes when I was in 2nd grade, and I took private lessons in 4th and 5th grade.

last summer i found this site and decided "hey i wanna play piano too!" and just...did it lol (ive had a piano since kindergarden but i gave up a long time ago lol) but then again i already knew how to read music from clairinet, saxaphone and flute (i had to brush up on my bass cleff tho T_T) if ur a percussion player tho u might have some trouble...but u can understand rythms right? so just learn your scales and fingerings to start with ^_^

of coz, the most normal thing to do when starting an instrument is play scales up and down, up and down... *snores* but yes, it's boring, so try playing simple pieces.... *i remember mines was twinkle twinkle!! ^^* bleh, I hate scales... even now.... =_=

i started when i was really young... like 4, then i stopped fer a couple of years and strated again. the teacher told me to practise my scales so much, we actually use like more than half of the lesson practicing the scales...... T_T

I started the piano when I was 5 years old. However, hating it, I stopped. Now I have restarted a year ago, and I love it. It's fun if you get to learn music that you really love though.

My mom forced me and my brother to take lessons when I was like, 5. I hated 'em, so we stopped after 4 lessons. Ironic, huh? Now I really want to play..

You could also borrow lesson books from the library. If your library doesn't have it, try searching it and see if you can get a copy from another library.
