Hello all, I thought I might try my hand at transcribing something, so here it is. Its Tatakau Monotachi from Final Fantasy 7 btw.

Pretty good for a first transcription; especially the fact that you could make out the actual melody of that song in a key with a lot of flats. (Is that song originally in F minor? I don't remember anymore; haven't played it for a while.) A good start, but I just want to address that sometimes repeating sixteenth notes like those aren't all that probable to play on the piano; it's possible, but it's not fun nor is it typically seen in piano music at a speed similar to Those Who Fight.

I've been messin with tweaking the piss out of it last night, and I think I included the intro from the piano version >:] should be pretty promising, I'll keep you informed if I have anything I'm stumped on or anything.

I think you'll be pleased with what I've come up with so far. It's just about note-for-note with the PIANO version. There's two different versions. There's the simplified "Orchestra" version they used in the game, then the solo Piano version. Look it up on YouTube or something. Tatakau Monotachi FF AC

Look under that, and you basically have what I've been messing around with. I got about the first 0:30 done, so... still a long ways to go, but I WILL get it done. LoL.

Anyhow, moar updates later. Keep it real pplz

No idea what exactly you're doing; but looking forward to it. :D

You didn't choose the easiest piece to transcribe first :D

it was more of a request from yours truly. I told him he'd be my hero forever if he could get the version I was looking for. XD

It's good, definitely for his first piece, but it's not what I was looking for. :P
I'm trying to transcribe it myself. There's a lot of different versions of "Tatakau Monotachi" (a.k.a. Those Who Fight), like the one Taemond transcribed, which was taken straight from FF VII

There's also another version used in FF Advent Children, and I believe there was another one used in Dirge of Cerberus. Ionno about that though, haven't done much research :heh:
But yeah, the one I'm looking for is a solo piano piece. I'm not exactly sure if it's the one from Advent Children, when Tifa's fighting Kadash in the chapel, but I know it's epic, and that's all I care about :D

I'm definitely going to keep people updated though. It's effing hard, since I'm trying to match every chord and arpeggio note-for-note, but methinks I can figure it out eventually :]

Thanks for all your comments, I know it isn't an easy piece, but I'd thought I'd have a go. I'll try and do some more as well, then might start doing some for other people. But, that's a real big maybe :heh:

Well, I regret to admit that after several concussions, four broken vertebrae in my neck, bald spots wearing on my temples from ripping my hair out, and an incurable habit of screaming at the top of my lungs at my computer, that I am relinquishing my title of "Transcriber". Too many sleepless nights have I gone fighting with Tatakau Monotachi, and it's just not worth the effort. I'm just gonna buy the book itself for about $30, then post the music on here for other people to view. I'm done destroying what few misfiring braincells I have left.
