My first thread. My first completed composition. I feel I don't like this but please give me your opinions/comments on this. This is for piano.

The "UN National Anthem" piece is uncomplete, but please critisize my orchestral pieces. I need critizism on that piece.

@ 0:02, there is some REALLY bad dissonance. I don't know if it was intended or not, but you should fix that... Oh, and around the end, there is some popping noises in the recording...

@0:02, it was supposed to be a G minor chord 3rd inversion with a D1 and D2. And at the end I understand the poping noise. The audio recorder on my Finale does that when chords are played at a loud dynamic. I'm sorry for the bad recording.

Lower the volumes, I'd rather have a pop-free audio than a loud one. And I have to disagree with Zippy, I don't think that dissonance should be fixed, I think it's rather neat. Anyways, nice job, but it felt very Eb chord-y and arpeggio-y. It feels like it could accompany a solo instrument (possibly a viola or clarinet) that could play the recurring melody along with the piano. Btw, I love that bit that starts at ~0:57. From 2:24 on, it just feels like you're playing around with the Eb chord unnecessarily. Regardless, good job. ^_^

I think you mean second inversion; there's only a third inversion if it's a seventh chord, ninth chord, etc. I agree that it sounds fine. It's just a passing 6-4 chord, which is perfectly conventional.

My mistake. It's second inversion. I keep thinking root position as first inversion.

Thanks for all who commented here. And I'm bad at piano composition. Hopefully I can finish one of my orhcestral pieces soon.
